Riding with Lady Luck

Simon Mayo

Presenter

Overcast Monday here. The longest day begins with the lights on and a fine pot of coffee (i’s the solstice today as it’s a leap year in case that sounded wrong). The weekend saw trip to the seaside, back to one of my old haunts of Worthing. That seafront is showing some signs of life! And then a father’s day spent writing, ironing, and watching more episodes of The Good Wife. If we haven’t watched at least 3-a-day, Mrs M thinks there’s something amiss.

Today is another Book Club day with The End of the World Running Club by Adrian J Walker. There’s been a multiple asteroid strike on the UK and across the world, and ‘rubbish dad’ Ed finds himself separated from his family. His only hope of being reunited with them is to (unsurprisingly) run (wait for it) 500 miles to find them. Read the start of it right here! Then hear Adrian on the show after 6 today.

But we’ll go for SOLSTICE songs to mark the longest day, the strawberry moon, the hot moon, the honey moon and the rose moon. A busy day and night!
