1005? Oh my. well thanks for keeping this ol’blog warm for a week. I have been lost in a world of GCSE revision (again), eating in a manner that is unfit for longevity, writing writing writing and, on one spectacularly cold day, birdwatching at Minsmere, Suffolk. On the plus side, I saw redshanks, avocets, black tailed godwits and heard a bittern. On the negative side, I lost feeling in my face. But all was fine in the end and if I stumble upon a Cetti’s warbler again I will identify it instantly and impress passers by.

Back on the show today! Looking forward to kicking it all off again with a top Book Club choice. How To Look For A Lost Dog by internationally bestselling author Ann M Martin. She sold 176 million copies of the Baby-Sitters Club series (I know. 176 million) And she is rarely here, but she is for the R2 Bookclub. It’s the story of Rose Howard, her love of homonyms, a storm, her dog called Rain and how she looks for her when she disappears. Top stuff tonight PLUS songs for BOB HARRIS’S 70TH BIRTHDAY! Happy birthday to one of our great broadcasters, still at the top of his game after all these years. Some Bob classics please!
