To the island of the moon

I am the most chilled person in the world this morning. I’ve followed the same routine, eaten the same breakfast and drunk the same coffee. I’m getting the same emails, reading the same paper and I have the same family. But…I am listening to Enya. This is my secret. Her album Dark Sky Island is playing here and its charms, its melodic tentacles are enveloping my senses. Layer upon layer of effortless harmony can’t help but soothe all the news away and before you know it you are ‘ahh-hhhing’ along with Ireland’s most successful solo singer. That’s 75 million albums and counting. Ahh-ahh indeed.
Anyway, Enya is here to keep the Irish theme going. Marian Keyes was a force of nature yesterday and great company too. They’re probably mates and go walking together in their rustling anoraks saying hello to Germans.
And the good news-the grey gene has been discovered. A big research project on hair and DNA has revealed that going grey is the fault of IRF4. Stop IRF4 and you can stop going grey. Or something like that. But grey can look fabulous so we’ll do GLAD TO BE GREY songs and be done with it
