Friday night curtain blowing

And a happy Friday to you too. A sunny Friday for most, a sunny/summery/not disappointing weekend in prospect. It's one of those mornings here where the temperature inside the house is way in excess of what's happening outside. That summer breeze is actually blowing through the actual jasmine in my actual mind, whatever that means. I might need some more jasmine actually after visits to the dentist and osteopath will make me ooooh and aaagh even more than Gina G thinks is safe.

2 shows with the movie show beginning its all-too familiar dance around the schedule. Wimbledon shifts us to midday for one hour with Asif Kapadia talking about his Amy Winehouse film which gets a cinematic release this week. We were expecting to run this last week but events overtook us. He's a fascinating film maker-'Senna' was quite brilliant -and 'Amy' is another compelling story.

Then a gentle stroll up Whitehall (we have to do the one hour show from Westminster-don't ask) Trafalgar Square and Regent Street (picking up a 'Chance' card and avoiding 'Free Parking') to Radio 2 and a cheery ARF will be ready to go. Your opening year has been selected by the ARF fairies and revealed as 1989. Dirty Den leaves Eastenders, the M42 is completed and the BBC decides that Dr Who has had its day. Now that seems a weird decision but it had got rather feeble and cheesy. Which pop-tastic, toe-tapping hit do you fancy?
