Wednesday feeling warmer here, with hints of flip-flop. We have our quarterly book club get-together (not a meeting, meetings are bad) this morning and there is a strict no-shorts rule in place, but sandals and sock-less behaviour can just about be tolerated. A sturdy summer blouse and comfortable slacks are advised.

He has written a novel based on the exploits of his grandfather who led a secret military unit in WW2. It involves secret documents in his loft, horrible prisons and men behaving badly with flamethrowers. You get the drift.
