Christmas in Shieldinch

A real tearjerker of an episode ( Was I the only one in tears at the end when Bob and

Molly arrived back in Shieldinch and stood watching the carol singers?) Sally Howitt and Una McLean acting was superb and the storyline handled very tastefully ( unlike some of the other soaps"down south", Ahem!!) and it's nice to see under Mollys hard shell she really cares for Scarlett. Hope RC will show Scarlett winning her battle against Ovarian cancer, I'm sure it's raised awareness!!

Brilliant episode so glad the doc left that file on the floor so Molly could see it and understand that poor Scarlet was very ill.Thankfully Molly was their and got the doctors help when Scarlet collapsed.Good to see that Molly does care about Scarlet and that they got her to hospital in time and that they were all their to support her.Felt so upset for wee Madonna and Bob and Jimmy they must be so worried.As Molly said Scarlet put her family before herself.I just wish she had gone to the hospital and got the operation, this is really an upsetting time for them all. I really hope she gets through this.I know shes only acting the part but shes such a good actress you end up really believing the storyline.And as the previous commentor said it shows folk and makes them aware about ovarian cancer and why its important to see a doctor right away.Lets just hope and pray that this does make folk more aware and they go and get checked out as its very serious and they need treatment right away.Thats the best thing about River city they cover so much different subjects.And they bring it to the viewers notice so they can follow the advice and get help which is good.Really chuffed that Eileen had a healthy baby boy and she wanted Raymond to be their for the birth.Lets hope that she does get married to Raymond they are so well suited and Raymond deserves some happiness for a change.River city is really good very informative and has a bit of everything in it.Keep up the good work guys the storylines allthough upsetting are well acted and very informative and at times very very funny.Especially the episode with Robbie when he thought one of his customers had died in his chair.Turned out she had an illness that made her pass out.It was hillarious when she woke up again and Iona and Ruth at the speed dating just so funny.River city is just brilliant and i would miss it if it wasnt on,i thoroughly enjoy it.Merry Christmas to everyone, and thankyou for such a great programme.

The woman in her late 40s, having a baby storyline in this week's Christmas Day episode of River City, was the second wean to arrive on Christmas Day in Shieldinch in four years. Scarlett gave birth to Madonna in the back of a taxi in 2006.



Scarlett's cancer scare is also similar to what happened to George a few years back.



Are these the same writers stuck in some sort of RC Groundhog Day? Or do the producers not care that if feels like we've seen it all before?

Fair enjoyed this weeks episode.I was begining to get really worried when Scarlet told them all just to go out and enjoy a few bevies to bring in the new year.I was begining to think the same thing was going to happen to Scarlet that happened to poor Shona.Thankfully that was not the case and it was so nice that Molly had that chat with Jimmy and told him that we have to be strong for Scarletts sake.Molly isnt all bad after all and its so different between her and Scarlet now compared to last Christmas.Isnt it a shame that a tragedy like this has to happen before folk realise just how much they really do care and love that person.So chuffed for Eileen and Raymond its going to bring them so much closer.And big Bob and Iona, hoorah at last the kiss we have all been waiting for has happened.They make a really lovely couple and im sure they will both be very happy together.Geena did a lovely thing getting Fraser to bring back his wee grandson and his wife for Murray to see them.I really hope that Geena and Murray do get married because they do love one another and they both deserve some happiness.Glad to see the back of Jack hes upset so many folk especially Haley. Not sure about Jo getting together with Gabriel but who knows hopefully this might change him for the better.So glad to hear that the doctors brother pulled through the operation.All in all a very good episode enjoyed it very much and looking forward to next years episodes.Thanks for such a brilliant programme and a Happy New Year to all the cast and crew.

Hi and Happy New Year to all.Could you please tell me why the comments are not being accepted just now.And why their has been no update on the latest episodes.Thankyou looking forward to hearing soon.Luv the programme.One more thing is River City classed as a soap or a drama.Theirs all these soaps like East Enders and Corrie and Emmerdale, and River city never gets a mention in the soap awards or the radio times except a wee bit in the programme section and very little information about whats happening.So is River city classed as a soap or not.Looking forward to seeing this weeks episode on Sunday as i never saw it yet and this years episodes.

River city is just so good just now.I couldnt believe Robbie stooping that low as to steal the charity money to pay his debt.I used to like him but not now what a horrible thing to do as so many folk worked so hard trying to raise all the money for cancer research.Poor Scarlet i just grat buckets when she asked Jimmy to shave her head.How brave was Scarlet asking him to do that,a very brave thing to do and couldnt have been an easy decision but Scarlet thought it was for the best.It was so good to see everyone trying to help raise money for cancer care and research people really rally round when they want to try and help with a charity.Theirs a lot of kind and caring folk out their and every penny makes such a difference to help various charities.Poor Scarlet i hope she is not leaving the series,she would be such a big miss.What is Theresa up to with Robbie.Cant wait till next week, it cant come quick enough.As for last weeks programme it was really well acted by the cast especially Ruth and Andy.It was so heart breaking when Andy left Ruth to go away to Dubia.That was very unexpected when she slapped his face, poor Andy must have been so hurt and heart broken.I hope Dr Brodie tells the truth about those prescription pads as poor Ruth has been blamed for this also about deliberately making her daughter ill.This is not the case and Ruth will hopefully get back home soon.Once her medication has got into her system hopefully she will be a lot better.Ruth really played her part so well same as Scarlet.It cant be an easy part to play but its really excellent acting.Thanks for such a great programme,i have watched it for years and it just gets better and better,well done all of you.

River City is great at the moment!

Poor Scarlet, it's so upsetting to watch her going through her battle & what is going on with Robbie that was very disappointing.

Looking forward to seeing new character Sean again looks like he will cause some trouble with Nicole & also helps that he's a bit of eye candy, not much of that on RC lol

Next week's episode looks very exciting, can't wait

Great to see new and younger characters being introduced to River City.

Hope Carmen & Sean are regulars as shieldinch seems to be a town of no teenagers apart from Nicole, at last she has friends. Exciting times ahead with Sean will def tune in next week!

hey what was the song that Nicole was singing along to on this tuesday night/s episode of River city,its really catchy and has been stuck in my head ever since.

just wanted to pass on my best wishes and prayers for stephen purdon,im not a big fan of the show,my mother loves it,but anytime i see the wee man on screen i watch it,great character and a nice guy-your in our prayers stephen,and to his family,may god give you and stephen the strength to come through this best wishes joe and anne(my maw)

Great story line with Nicole at the moment but what happened to Sean? Here today and gone tomorrow. Just when a new face comes into the programme with a bit of presence for the younger(teenage)viewers he disappears again. More info on this character please?

Thouroughly enjoying River City it just gets better every week.Well looks like Theresa has finally got her comeuppance as shes definately off to the clink now.Her character has been brilliant she acted her part really well.Funny thing is even though she played the villian i will miss seeing her on River City.Shes a brilliant actress and if you ever get the chance to see her in The Steamy you will not be dissapointed, she is so funny in it, very very talented.The situation about wee Stuarts christening gown was so funny.Eventually a happy ending regarding the gown.It was so funny the comments that were comming out about it especially from Stella.Hopefully Robbie will be forgiven for what he did and he gives the money back to the charity.I guess he was under a lot of pressure but what he did was very wrong.I never thought he would be as low to steal from charity.However im sure he will tell the police and pay back what he stole.Be sorry to see him leave the programme as he is so funny and such an amusing character.I hope Ruth isnt leaving the series going by the taster we have been getting.Would miss her character very much,hope she changes her mind and Scott.Hows wee Bob?hope he is a lot better and recovering from his illness.Thinking about ye Stephen get well soon.Why has the blog not changed since Christmas? hope everything is ok.Fair enjoying River City be lost without it as it has everything in it especially humour.But also serious story lines such as Scarlet having to undergo treatment for cancer and also Ruths depression.Really good storylines and really well acted.By the way what a fantastic voice Iona has absolutely fandabidozi.Thanks for such a great programme.

Really good episode but really sorry to see Ruth and Scott leaving.Hopefully it wont be too long before they come back again.A real tear jerker very good acting.Big bob making the cake was so funny but i felt so sorry for him when Iona said that their is no way they are going to get back together but they would still be friends.Maybe one day they will get back together because they were good together.Looking forward to Tuesdays episode allthough its going to be a big miss without Scott and Ruth in it.
