BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician 2012

Today sees the launch of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year competition for 2012.

The award exists to encourage young musicians to take up a career in traditional music, the winner receives a recording session with BBC Scotland, a performance at the Scots Trad Music Awards and one year's membership of the Musician's Union.

Interested and aged between 16 and 27 (inclusive)? If so you can find out all the details by reading the information sheet (pdf) and the terms and conditions, and downloading the application form. The closing date for applications is Friday 1st July 2011.
