Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 is coming out this week, with one of my favourite animated characters from the first film - "Steve!" the monkey. He uses a speech generating device to communicate, normally just with his name. "Steve!"

Moustache!

Steve!
So this is basically just an excuse for me to list my top 5 animated sidekicks who can't talk but communicate brilliantly anyway...
1) The Minions, who were a huge hit in Despicable Me and were even more popular in the sequel, so much so that they've got their own spin-off film coming out. All hail The Minions! They fight a lot, love bananas, have their own special language and are fiercely loyal. Who wouldn't want a Minion?

The Minions' best bits. I dare you not to laugh.
2)Abu, the cheeky, sword-toting, jewel-stealing monkey from Aladdin. Chatters a lot, is very jealous and extremely greedy. Looks cute in a fez. Nuff said.

3)Meeko, everyone's favourite racoon and Pochahontas'sbest friend. He's also pretty greedy (he loves a biscuit or 20) but he's clever and cunning and a massive wind-up merchant.

Here are some of his and Percy's best bits...
4) Pascal the angry and suspicious chameleon off of Tangled. A great companion to play hide and seek with but can't always hold is tongue...geddit?

Cutest. Chameleon. EVER.
5) I think my personal favourite is Kevin, the multicoloured, maternal Snipe who befriends Russell in Up. He is actually a she, trying desperately to get back to her children. She loves chocolate and being loud. She also sounds exactly like my friend Poppy.

Kevin looks like she'd be SO much fun.
And that's my top 5! What's yours? Tell me in the comments or if that's too complicated, tweet me @BBCR1Rhianna.
