#BBCGlasto - help create a Glastonbury themed playlist

Glastonbury, Glastonbury, Glastonbury. Anyone would think there was something happening there this weekend. Joking aside it is the live music event/festival/chaos of the year, and still is after over 40 years since its inception in 1970, the year T-Rex headlined… it’s now 2014 and this year we have Arcade Fire, Metallica and Kasabian.

How things have changed, in more ways than one. For one thing the coverage of the festival - the BBC will be bringing the festival to you on all platforms for those who are not going. Which, if you’re reading this, is most likely YOU.

But fret not! For two hours this Sunday (29 June), we need YOUR help us create a Glastonbury inspired playlist. The theme is Glastonbury, obviously, but we also want your memories and stories attached to those Glasto acts and performances that have stayed with you.

What could be on the playlist? Well, you could pick:

  • Your favourite Pyramid stage moment, like Orbital bringing dance music to the masses in 1994, Radiohead performing at the peak of their powers in 1997, or The Rolling Stones last year with Mick, and that strut.
  • What about a surprise show you stumbled across? In recent years there have been the likes of Pulp and Fatboy Slim. Or those not even at the festival, Gabriella Aplin just yesterday morning (June 25) performed on the 07:15 First Great Western service from London Paddington to the music festival.
  • Maybe you’ve discovered a band at Glastonbury who have gone on to be your new favourite band?
  • Or, if you were going to the event this time around, who would you want to see? Maybe you ARE at the event and if so who are you actually going to see?

As ever, you choose the music so let us know what you want us to play by commenting on Facebook, here on the blog, Tweet #BBCGlasto, email us at nowplaying@bbc.co.uk or add a track into our collaborative Spotity playlist.
