#Soundtracks6Music - What Must Make Our Soundtracks Playlist?

With news this week that Lorde, Arcade Fire and Foals are all involved in separate soundtrack projects, this Sunday (26 October, 6-8pm) we thought we’d celebrate the best music from the big screen.

The online world has been buzzing after the tracklist was revealed for the Lorde-curated soundtrack for the new Hunger Games film, Mockingjay, Pt 1, featuring music from The Chemical Brothers, Grace Jones, Kanye West, Bat For Lashes and more.

Meanwhile, Arcade Fire also tweeted about bandmember Will Butler (brother of frontman Win) providing music for a new movie about a Barack Obama impersonator. And more digital headlines were made following the news that our friend over at Radio 1, Zane Lowe, would be re-scoring the cult film ‘Drive’, featuring new music from the likes of Chvrches, Laura Mvula and Foals.

So, to mark this week’s bounty of interesting soundtrack news, what should make our playlist featuring the best tracks from the big screen?

You could pick songs from films like ‘Control’, ‘24 Hour Party People’, ‘High Fidelity’, ‘Quadrophenia’, or ‘Trainspotting’. Or what about tracks by those who have scored films such as The Chemical Brothers with ‘Hanna’, Alex Turner with ‘Submarine’ or Trent Reznor with ‘The Social Network’?

Send your song suggestions and reasons for your selections via Twitter using #Soundtracks6Music, post below on this blog, the 6 Music or Now Playing Facebook pages, the 6 Music Instagram page, drag tracks onto the show’s collaborative Spotify and Rdio playlists, or email nowplaying@bbc.co.uk
