#6MusicLive - Help Create The Ultimate Live Music Playlist

Kellie Redmond

Radio producer

This Sunday (12 October, 6-8pm) Now Playing brings 6 Music Live’s week of events to a triumphant close by handing over programming to YOU – as we create a playlist of your all-time favourite live performances from the BBC archive and beyond.

Now Playing @6Music #6MusicLive

You could pick your favourite sessions from this year’s 6 Music Live at Maida Vale shows, hosted by Lauren Laverne and featuring Johnny Marr, First Aid Kit, Underworld, La Roux and James.

Plus we’re throwing open the BBC archive, so you could chose your most memorable sessions from the past 50 years – whether a Peel Session, something from Glastonbury Festival, Radio 1’s Evening Session, a Live Lounge or a past session or concert recorded especially for 6 Music.

Or you could pick a track from your favourite live albums – whether The White Stripes’ ‘Under Great Northern Lights’, Pink Floyd’s ‘Pulse’, Nirvana’s ‘Unplugged in New York’, Aretha Franklin’s ‘Live at Fillmore West’, Johnny Cash’s ‘Live at Fulsom Prison’... it’s up to you.

Check out our Instagram video for more inspiration here.

So what live track should make our Ultimate Live Music Playlist – and why?

Send in your suggestions and all-important reasons for your selection via Twitter using #6MusicLive, post below this blog, 6 Music’s Instagram page, on the 6 Music or Now Playing Facebook pages, drag tracks onto the show's collaborative Spotify and Rdio playlists, or email nowplaying@bbc.co.uk
Blog comments will be available here in future. Find out more.
