If you're inspired to send us your tracklist and story for Memory Tapes, then drop a line to: lauren.6music@bbc.co.uk, and it could you playing us your tracks on the radio.

Today's Memory Tape is what we like on this show! A collaborative tale of meeting new people, love, a shared passion for music, triumph over adversity and lots of other clichés about falling in love. Here's Neil Wallace in his words giving us the lowdown. And tune in around 10:35 as we'll have both Neil and Ashleigh on the phone:

"Hello! So, back in 2011 I was doing a masters in journalism and Ashleigh was working for a company that wanted journalism students to write reviews for them, which I did. When Ashleigh left in early 2012 she sent me her Twitter handle in case we wanted to stay in touch (cutting edge!). So we started following each other, and started talking almost every day about music, mostly about what was on 6 Music. By this point I was living in Manchester and Ashleigh was still in London.

This then escalated into timing our listening of the People's Playlist together (retrospectively, if we couldn't make it in real time). I think the first time we did this with a UK garage one but I can't remember. We also spent weeks sending YouTube links of songs to each other, before realising we could just make collaborative Spotify playlists; we've now got loads.

Our 'Favourite songs ever ever ever…' is obviously the best one. It includes loads of tracks which we really bonded over. 'Gin Soaked Boy' is the one that I introduced Ashleigh to (and soon afterwards it became her top track on Spotify), and if/when we get married, Jackie Wilson's '(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher' will be our first dance.

We met in real life in August 2012 when Ashleigh bravely came up to Manchester to visit me, and a month later I quit my job and moved down to London. Two years later we live together in North London, still listen to 6, talk about music all the time and make collaborative playlists.

Love from Neal and Ashleigh"

The Spotify playlist also includes the likes of Suede, Neutral Milk Hotel, Regina Spektor, Radiohead, Simon & Garfunkel, Slow Club, Carole King, Van Morrison, Divine Comedy and many more. Check it all out here.
