Even though they’ve had a change of name – from Twin Sister to Mr Twin Sister – they’ve also had a change in musical stance. Far gone are the days as “Long Island’s dreamiest dream pop band” as we welcome the dark, brooding electro-pop-meets-late-night-Chicago. ‘Out of the Dark’ is the first new material since 2011’s Twin Sister. And keen observers have noted: “The key lyric goes like so: “I am a woman, but inside I’m a man, and I want to be as gay as I can.” No idea whether there’s any personal resonance to that sentiment or if it’s linked to the name change.” Hmmm thought provoking!
