The Bulletproof Bomb are the latest BBC Introducing act to be selected for our sought after weekly spot on the Radio 1 playlist. Their track “Five Green Bottles” (which you can listen to in full below) will receive spins by Greg James, Scott Mills and more. Read on to find out about this promising young London band and let us know what you think below.
Hometown: South London.
Style: For an act that started as an acoustic comedy group when they were just 15, this London five-piece are actually now flourishing as a rather good rock'n'roll band. Inspired by a range of artists from The Clash to Gorillaz, to The Buzzcocks, their initial tracks were produced and mixed by Rory Attwell (The Vaccines, Yuck, Palma Violets). A must listen for fans of Jamie T and The Libertines.
You Need To Know: After joining the Uploader nine months ago, The Bulletproof Bomb were instant favourites for BBC Introducing in London, picked up by Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1 and selected as Zane Lowe’s Next Hype for his Radio 1 flagship specialist show. The boys headlined the BBC Introducing stage at Reading & Leeds Festival 2014 (watch the highlights here) and with various headline shows of their own booked in for the rest of the year, they look set for even bigger things.
