Tip of The Week: Two Wounded Birds - All We Wanna Do

I first came across Two Wounded Birds at Maida Vale where they were hand picked to play by Radio 1 and NME as part of BBC Introducing week on Radio 1. I filmed the band performing My Lonesome which immediately became my favourite song of theirs. That instantly deep groovy bassline, the punchy drum and cymbal loop, and of course the hazy guitar wobbles that made me think I was suddenly in Pulp Fiction, how could I resist? Add to that the somewhat haunting vocals of lead singer Johnny Danger and you've got yourself a track that sounds like it should have been made on the west coast sun-drenched beaches of California rather than the overcast east coast seaside of Margate.

The BBC Introducing family loved them so much they were invited to play Glastonbury 2011, where they put in an electrifying performance in front of a big crowd (especially for an early, hungover Sunday afternoon slot).

See videos and photos of Two Wounded Birds playing Glasto here.

This track All We Wanna Do should bring a touch of sunshine to the Radio 1 playlist, and we may even begin to believe we are actually in the middle of summer. Just ignore all the rain around us.
