2. JaJa Soze – Beef With Demons

Not only am I a big grime fan, but I'm also loving what the UK undergroup rap music scene is doing at the moment. The man behind my second track of the month is JaJa Soze, one of the more popular artists within the rap scene right now. JaJa and the rest of his crew really put south London rap music on the map and were one of the first to really get this whole road rap phenomenon off the ground, back in the day. On Beef With Demons, JaJa shares his thoughts on the music industry, life on the roads and religion. Very deep!

1. TRACK OF THE MONTH: Sam Khan – Back To My Old Ways

My number one track this month comes from a guy called Sam Khan. He’s one of the few Asian MCs who have managed to make an impression on the underground music scene, which he explains in a lot of detail on Back To My Old Ways. I was not only impressed by the delivery, but the futuristic grime production from Newcastle’s Rimshox was also next level.

This month was much more about lyrical content, as opposed to the usual hype tracks that I tend to choose, and I feel that Sam Khan really took it there.

SCOTTISH TRACK OF THE MONTH: Profisee – Hold Up

Profisee rides the well-made grime production from Starkey effortlessly here. Hold Up is about being held hostage, but picture yourself in a club, where you’re told to put your hands up and dance to the music, or else! Really clever concept.
