Tip of The Week: Lighthouses - Control
Lighthouses are one of those bands where people insist they must have emerged from some insane cross-breeding experiment between two other bands.
"Fenech-Soler meets Bloc Party" "Daft Punk crossed with Soulwax" "Death from Above vs Delphic" "David Bowie meets Justice crossed with Bloc Party"! I mean, where exactly are these cross-breeding parties happening? I can just imagine David Bowie walking into the dressing room of Justice, being impressed by their huge glowing cross, grabbing a few Pina Coladas and jumping in the jacuzzi with Bloc Party, and 9 months later finding an unknown child called Lighthouses on the doorstep.
Whoever the Lighthouses' real father is, he probably had a knack for making catchy dance music, as his children have inherited this useful gene and put it to use in this track Control:

They are a three piece who mix the art of dj-ing with playing live, and must do it pretty well to have supported the likes of AutoKratz, David E. Sugar, and Alex Metric.
