Maida Vale = Made of Ale

Huw StephensHuw Stephens|22:44 UK time, Wednesday, 8 November 2006

hello

hope youre well. just been for a thai in the pub round the corner. they do a mean thai, which is surprising considering its a pub. Today I came up on the train to London and headed straight to the Maida Vale area of London and to the BBC studios. We Are Scientists were int here with Colin Murray, Kasabian were just leaving after being on Jo Whiley's show, and we were in MV 4 for a live set from three ace bands for tonights show.

They all played In the City in Manchester recently, and all played some great songs which are broadcast tonight (and up to listen again for the next seven days of course). They were Cate le Bon, Gideon Conn and Stuart James.

They're all ace, make music to hold onto, and hopefuly will reach a wider audience in the near future.

I've been loving the Brakes album of late, the Magic Numbers album is just lovely, got a new Tall Pony demo through which is great (they'll be on the show before the year is out hopefuly) and loads more great demos.

Maybe you could sign them to Boobytrap or Peski. Guarenteed continuous BBC airplay then ;o)
