A workshop to investigate whether the BBC Archive can be used to help stimulate memory in people living with dementia. The workshop provided essential insight which was incorporated in their development of ideas for new digital experiences.
BBC Minute CatchUP is a player that sits on your web browser and provides a 60 second news bulletin every half an hour. It’s the first pilot to come out of the Connected Studio / World Service partnership programme and is available to try on BBC Taster.
Within BBC Digital we are particularly keen to increase the numbers of technical women that we employ, from 25% currently to 30% by 2017. Our work includes projects to support the retention of existing female staff plus initiatives to attract more talented tech women to apply for roles at the BBC.
Delivering media content to our audiences across the internet is a complex task involving many technologies and many organisations. So when a problem arises it's important for us to be able to narrow down the problem efficiently so that it can be fixed as quickly as possible.
Every day we receive bundles of emails, messages and photos about the weather. We try our best to show off users’ photos on the regular website and TV and radio broadcasts, but it’s been great to create a space to make the most of all our users’ content and contributions.
