Good morning Afghanistan!
Good morning lovely people! I am sat in the 'departure lounge' (hut) at the American Flight Line because today we're visiting another base - Lashkar Gah. More details on that tomorrow...
LIVE IMAGE OF ME TYPING:
So then. Afghanistan. I'm here and I've had 5 hours sleep since Friday. We left RAF Brize Norton early on Saturday morning and after a 7 hour flight to a secret location, I met some of the fire fighter chaps and had a little go on the hose whilst we waited for the flight to Camp Bastion. I had to:
We then boarded the C17 Globemaster jet to get us to Camp Bastion in Afghanistan.

It's normally used to take tanks, trucks, supplies and even helicopters all over the world but sometimes used to take hundreds of troops. Imagine a normal jumbo jet with NONE of the comfort, screens, air hostesses or reading lights. You're sat in a shell and it is insane. A massive thank you to legendary pilot and co-pilot Stubbsy and Chaz and the rest of the crew for inviting us up to the cockpit for takeoff.
Video of this to come...
Below, is me arriving at Camp Bastion as we walked out the back of the plane. This will be the most surreal week of my life I think. Only been here a day and met some incredible people and it is SO interesting.

As to information to find out, it would be really interesting to know more about people's job titles and what they really involve on a day-to-day basis, as well as their emotions to being in Afghanistan, what time their up, when and how long they get to sleep, and what the packaged food tastes like. Again, well done for doing this and I hope you have an incredible time x

My airman is out there and I'm missing him loads, it's nice to be able to see where he is as there is no closer way of experiencing it with him. I'm sure you'll be visiting MT where he works (the bit with all the big tucks!) He's part of 2MT Squadron, SAC Steven Hellier.... Just shout Rambo and tell him he's very much missed. He might even tell you how he got that nickname :)

Please give a shout out to my husband Wg Cdr Jim Mulholland (based in Kabul) and tell him we are missing him loads. This is his second tour there in less then 18 months. He has spent 12 months in total away from our 18 month old little girl Eliza, so May 2013 isn't going to come quick enough xxx
