My favourite Radio 1 DJ visiting my favourite place to work! I begrudingly returned to the UK April 2011 at the end of my contract after just over 3 fabulous years in Kandahar (about 40 mins flight from CB) and loved every bit of it!

You will have a great time as the will the troops (having you in their 'territory'!)

Its cold in the Winter so dont forget to pack your winter woolies as well as a self-deprecating sense of humour as I'm sure the lads and lasses of our superb British Forces will subject you to a taster of what I think partly makes up that which is great!

Enjoy your time out there, you will be well looked after and if you happen to get a rocket attack during your stay, make sure you 'man up', remember your immediate actions on a rocket attack drills (which Im sure you will be advised on!) and try not to scream like a little girl or you will never live it down ;-)

Good on you greg for going out there to do your bit for our lads and lasses they are doing every body proud....it just shows we have the best forces goin and no matter what gets chucked at them they will always do it without complaint.

Please could you mention our friend SAC Tori Venmore-Rowland on your Drivetime show next week, if possible dedicate a song for her..... Marilyn Manson "The Fight Song" would be perfect as she was learning it on her drums before she left the UK, i understand that might not be the sort of song for Drivetime ;) so alternatively any song by the band "Hinder". Tori is based at Kandahar, it is her first tour of Afghan. Been a tough year for her and her husband Luke, he was deployed for 3 months earlier this year so they have had 6 months apart in 2012. I know it would be a moral boost for her & Luke to know were thinking of them. Cheers James and Lara.

I am really proud what you are doing Greg and I am even more proud of our troops that are out there right now and i have lots of respect and they make me proud to say that i am british all because of them brave people.

I lost my Dad 16 and a half years ago when I was a baby while in battle and he spent his last Christmas away from us in Bosnia. Means a lot that you can go and lift the morale there Greg, have fun and stay safe! X
