Goodbye Darren and Libby?

We had Shannis, we have Chryed but what is Darren and Libby's portmanteau (that's right PORTMANTEAU - I just looked it up)? Dibby? Larren? But *face crumples* maybe it's too late... *weeps* because Lib has found out about Darren and Heather's secret . And though, IN THEORY, we consider it an unforgivable offence to have it off with someone else and sire a child, this is DIFFERENT. Because it's DIBBY. Darren begged, he tried to steal Libby's Oyster card to stop her from leaving, he nearly died of hypothermia by sleeping on a park bench. Will Libby take him back? Will she dump him? Or will she get even by having a baby with as unlikely a member of the Walford community as Darren chose - Minty? Winston off the market? Get that girl back to Oxford before she does something she regrets.

New evidence

Meanwhile, Marsden was stomping round the Square checking out random ladies' fingernails. Was she running out of beauty ideas now that the Minute Mart has sold out of Nail Technician's Weekly? Of course not. She was on to a vital clue (exclusively revealed last week in her video diaries) - a fingernail found at the scene of the crime. Next thing we knew, Sam and Peggy were at each others' throats in Walford police station. Whatever happened to faaaamily? Then, Heather dropped Phil in it, and Shirley called up to give an anonymous tip-off that it was Janine what dunnit. Some people will do anything for a smooch with Phil Mitchell.

New love

They do say that New Year's a testing time for relationships. We've already wept abut Darren and Libby. Other break-up news - Tamwar got dumped by Afia (that didn't take long) and Lauren dumped Peter. Fortunately, there are some new romances blossoming on the Square. Lucy had her eye on Leon and concocted an elaborate plan to get him. Whitney and Todd grew closer, almost too close, but then Todd made an analogy between saving a choking girl's life and making sweet amour with Whitney (it did make sense really) and they decided to wait. And Peter bagged new girl Zsa Zsa, much to Lauren's disapproval.

New faces

We had our first glimpse of Stacey's little baba, as she went for her 12 week scan (it looked totally bald - it's definitely a Mitchell). Peter was beguiled by the excellently be-coiffed Zsa Zsa who snogged him, scrapped with Lauren, and vowed to unleash her almighty fury upon Lucy. Actually fairly subdued behaviour for a member of Shirley's family. Then there's Leon - he's quite attractive, isn't he? Fatboy, was discovered under Amira's bed with a copy of Tropic of Desire. He then inadvertently encouraged a riot in Amira's flat. Roxy and Ronnie's mum Glenda wandered in after 21 years without so much as a text, revealing that Archie had kept her away from her daughters and that she's still married to him. Some she fooled (Ronnie/Peggy), others she didn't (Roxy). The big question is, what's she REALLY turned up for? Hmm? Hmmmm?? Hmmmmmmm??? What do you reckon?
