The Daleks to Return in the Anniversary Special!
The BBC has announced that the Doctor’s most famous foes, the Daleks, will return to Doctor Who in the show’s fiftieth anniversary special. We’ll bring you more news about the adventure as it emerges, but for now, here’s the latest press release in full:
The Doctor Who Proms, 2013
There was an epic sense of celebration at this weekend’s Doctor Who Proms. The Royal Albert Hall’s audience – many of them dressed in fezzes or bow ties – were there to hear the brilliant work of Murray Gold and music from throughout the show’s history, provided by the London Philharmonic Choir and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, conducted by Ben Foster.
Song for Fifty
This weekend’s Doctor Who Proms saw the world premiere of the magnificent Song for Fifty. Written and orchestrated by Murray Gold who described the piece as ‘a love song to Doctor Who’, it’s a towering, triumphant celebration of the Time Lord’s half-century.
This Weekend’s Doctor Who Proms
This year’s two Doctor Who Proms are happening this weekend but if you don’t have a ticket – don’t worry! The first of the special concerts will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and we’ll be bringing you photos and reports from the Royal Albert Hall where as usual, the Proms are being staged. .
David Bradley IS William Hartnell – the First Doctor
The BBC has released the first official shot of David Bradley playing William Hartnell in the First Doctor’s costume. The photograph (above) also features the exterior of the TARDIS as it will appear in An Adventure in Space and Time, the BBC drama exploring the origins of Doctor Who.
