Wednesday 8 December, BBC Television Centre, London.
The release of Aung San Suu Kyi from house arrest - after being detained for much of the past two decades - was one of the biggest international stories of the year. The BBC faced huge challenges in covering the story from inside Burma (Myanmar).
In this special BBC College of Journalism event, the BBC World Affairs producer Nick Springate will discuss how those challenges were overcome, culminating in the first face-to-face TV interview with Aung San Suu Kyi for seven years. Nick will be joined by the Head of BBC Burmese, Tin Htar Swe, and Picture Correspondent Rob Magee.
