On 17 September 2008, at exactly 9am, a new entry on Robert Peston's blog opened with a simple but remarkable sentence: "Lloyds is in advanced merger talks with HBOS to create a giant UK super retail bank." From that moment, Peston's Picks became one of the most influential blogs in the world.
Multi-award winning financial journalist and top BBC blogger Robert Peston will give a short talk about how he's used his blog to break, enhance and disseminate a story. This will be followed by question-and-answer session chaired by Sarah Bradshaw, Commissioner for International Training at the BBC College of Journalism.
