Ric Bailey, the BBC's Chief Political Adviser, and David Cowling, Editor, Politics for Political Programmes, Analysis and Research, gave a Journalism Programme and Analysis and Research briefing on the upcoming UK-wide elections on 5 May.
They discussed what Bailey called "the trickiest set of elections" ever for BBC newsrooms, assessed the importance of the elections for the year-old coalition government, and explained the referendum on the Alternative Vote (AV).
