Online sports journalism - a world away from IT sales

Damian Derrick is a regional sports journalist based at BBC Bristol. It's his dream job, for which he took a year out to study, and a big pay cut, after twelve years in the IT industry. He combines reporting for the BBC website with sports commentating at the weekends. 

This is the second in the new College of Journalism series, Inside BBC Journalism, in which BBC journalists talk frankly about their jobs, how they got them, and what it takes to succeed.
