Local councils across the UK face a challenging year as the Coalition Government's 7% cut in funding comes into effect this month.

Join BBC Home Editor Mark Easton and Professor Tony Travers, from the Department of Government at the London School of Economics, at this BBC College of Journalism lunchtime briefing.

They will look at the complex nature of the cuts and the impact they'll have on local government and the wider economy - plus the importance of putting the facts and figures into context.

When:

Wednesday 20 April

1.30pm - 2.30pm

Where:

Meeting Room 5

6th Floor Suite

TV Centre

London

The event is open to all BBC staff. If you'd like to attend, please email cojoevents@bbc.co.uk.
