We know from regus the triangle has at least two meanings

can mean africa , can also mean the trinity/ AS in supernatural trinity vampire/werewolf and ghost

we also know that the shape with the cross inside means a house?

now the two shapes: men or women? opposed?



we also have the moon symbol and someone inside, laying down? with a line across the moon symbol



a dead werewolf??? and the symbol of vampires

I was wondering what the 2 shapes are, could be the opposed forces (vampires and werewolves). The moon symbol with someone laying inside could be a dead werewolf, or a vampire with a stake in the heart?



So so far we have supernatural trinity vampire/werewolf and ghost, and baby born in the house and vampires.

Then we have what we are guessing to possibly be a dead werewolf, or a vampire with a stake in the heart?

it is same shape but with added baby inside a enlarged 'belly'

so we have two women face to face/ a vampire and ... a dead woman with the symbol of the moon- the woman of the future visiting the household!

Top corner is it me or does that look like a ships sail? if so with the theories we have so far we have a dead vampire (staked), 2 women, a house, a trinity. = End of last series dead vampire, Nina & Annie, in the house of the Trinity (Ghost, Vampire & Werewolf) with the OO's coming from overseas. or is that just too obvious? at this stage of the game I don't think LT would give too much away whadda ya think?

by the way as scrolls go, Regus has not told Annie/dying George and Tom that there is a third scroll whereas Fergus and Cutler are aware of existence of said third scroll



AND BY THE WAY, this scroll has never been seen so far in the serie

so is it belonging to one of the four other dreams of the original Asian vampires?

We deffinatly know the triangle is the trinity and the tomestone with the cross inside is the baby born in the house, the baby inside the moon is a human born under moon (meaning same or maybe different talents to warewolves) the one that looks like a two sided axe means vampires and the other symbol was supposed to have meant death..... thats all i got from the show :D i'll try and help xx

Was the girl from the future Eve? - we don't know - she is listed as The Woman in the credits.

Why is she travelling back timelord stylie to kill herself? We don't know if she is and if she was, we still don't know. Maybe to stop all the vampires wiping out the werewolves in the future? Not sure. What do you think?

Hi, never really posted on here, but here goes.... I think that "The Woman" must be Eve, the man who stabbed her said something about meeting her once and shaking her hand when he joined the recruitment drive for werewolves, maybe she becomes their poster girl? Just a thought....

Hi guys, first time posting but I regularly lurk these blogs and comments. That's not creepy at all is it?



@MancVamp I think there is importance in the order they're placed since they did in episode one. The symbol for baby was over the symbol for moon and that meant baby of the werewolf.



So what we have is House, Supernatural Trinity, Vampire and the symbol for Moon or Werewolf with a line through it.



Does anyone remember the symbol for Baby? Without the "bump" bit with the baby inside, the symbol was a line with a tail on either end going in opposite directions. That long symbol we haven't seen before has two of those up against each other? So a couple? Maybe lovers? I'm not sure.

Whether or not this is sad (my husband says yes) I've been keeeping note of the symbols in my notebook and this is what I think of the scroll above:-



We know the pyramid is trinity (more likely to be that than Africa), so maybe the union of werewolf,vampire and ghost ie the 3 main characters......?

Are all these symbols made up by Lord Toby, who is the creator of Being Human or are these symbols based on some ancient language? Good question - I have no idea.



Africa - no we don't know how it fits in. Inch suggested that Leo, the old werewolf, had an Afican accent (and I agree, sounded like Botswana or Ivory Coast ... oh - never mind....)



The OOs stands for 'The Old Ones' - they are Vampires that were made a very long time ago. Edgar Wydham was an Old One and Hal is an Old One. More Old Ones are on their way from South America.



That reminds me - will there be a symbol for South America?

I think that there are five pieces to the completed scroll,

I have been in the shadows of this amazing blog, but felt the time was right to show myself, and jump aboard!

I can honestly say I have never felt the need to join in, as you all do such a great job at answering anything I may wonder upon. But I had to use this vehicle to pass on my thanks (understatement) to LT and the entire BH team/crew/talent, for giving us the best show on TV. And to also say that series 4 has me just as hooked as ever, and that the next 7 sundays are going to be amazing. So yeah, thankyou.

I never for once doubted that the series couldnt cope with the losses of such key characters. As strong as they are/were, I believe the writing, the production, and the eye for acting talent was enough to convince me that BH had plenty of life (and death) left in it.

I was a serious Mitchell fan though. And yes I (a 29 year old bloke) shed tears at his exit... but thats why I love the show. Im a mans man, and little moves me to tears like this show has. Last sunday, it got me again. As soon as I saw the ghost George, I had tears down my cheeks!

But yeah, I was really only worried about the loss of Mitchell. I felt George and Nina had run their course, and while I would have liked a clip of ghost Nina waiting for George, I accept their time was up.

I love Annie. She is the glue that holds it together. And LC is such an amazing actress, I hope she gets meatier storylines this year. Last series I tired of her a little.

And Michael Socha as Tom is just awesome. Funny, but striking too. He has that McNair attitude, no-nonsense, no fear. His constant reminders about "such a big arrrs, n all them rooms going spare n that.." were quality. I love the mix in emotions that BH gives us. Up and down like the big dipper!

But for me, sunday was where I decided how big a hole Mitchell had left. And honestly, after the first 5 minutes, I rarely thought of him, except when his name was brought up by Griffin... and the main reason??

Hal.

As soon as he was on screen I was captivated, as I was by Mitchell - awesome writing, awesome acting. I think Im going to love Hal just as much as dear ol John Mitchell.

Yes the fragment here is different from scrolls we saw in the episode.

Actually thinking about it why would the vampires send such precious artefacts anywhere during an invasion,military logic would dictate that your protect valuable information to stop the enemy using it against you.

That being said vampires do have rather a high opinion of themselves,their most important thing seems to be "whats in it for me ",this is what leads to their demise at a young age.

To achieve "Old One " status in years requires brains as well as luck.

we have see the 2 first scrolls and the shape of the above scroll does not fit the original 2. It is a right angle but the shape does not match the rest. Sierra Leone is a good read, is it Africa, now that is yet undecided as far as triangle goes and do not forget the Regus scroll for the other trinity is three triangles inside a larger triangle so could be a real trinty opposed to the first one?

Finally I am not convinced that the bit given to the Woman of the Future - ok from now on she will be FW is really the right missing it. There is quite a lot missing on the human skin department if you look at it

Howlingblue and Ewan - sorry are we saying that the triangle is Africa or Trinity or both or we don't know - that is to say - Regus didn't know when he said Africa or Trinity. I don't think a symbol can stand for two things. I think it's Africa. But if it is Africa then it's upside-down. Or rather the map is upside-down. (the flat bit should be at the top)

Right, had a look at this scroll and here goes my tuppence worth - starting top left and working anti-clockwise:



One of two things - either signifies a time when the OOs will come from South Africa OR the supernatural trinity. I don't think this option necessarily means ghost, ww and vampire but three supernaturals who represent Father, Son and Holy Ghost - that is God or more generally goodness.



Next up, I think this sign represents a female and male (female to the left, male to the right).



Then we have sign for the moon with sign for female superimposed on it - so woman of the moon - Eve perhaps?



Then we have the house where the child was born



And lastly vampires.



So I think this scroll is telling of a time when there will be a supernatural trinity consisting of a male and female with the third member being a vampire (I think this is important becase the vampire will be going against the OOs). They will live in the house where the child saviour was born and the child will be a female ww.

Nipple would be expected on skin scrolls but is location of nipple significant to storyline as symbol of the birth taking place??? Plus some bites have been 'actionned' twice!

There was a trinity- for 2 years/2 bites under the guidance of a vampire/ vamp sign higher up than trinity, vampire father figure? then a year later/1 bite- as in the third year, - two werewolves loved each other, or gave birth/ nipple interference/ and a baby was born or was to be born in that house/to that trinity.

Then a werewolf died? male? female? during a change? as we can see werewolf in the moon sign laying flat with a worrying vertical symbol through it (McNair? killed by knife) but could be George as it was during a change however unperfect it was…

46 I don't think this fragment is meant to be the missing piece from the scroll in the episode. On the Intro to the Scrolls blog it says:



"Last night we were introduced to a set of scrolls that foretold one of the five vampire legends - The War Child.

Hello! Being an archaeologist, I've been intrigued by the symbols and was struck by the double axe one. It's quite an ancient symbol and has got quite a history (and controversy!). Might be entirely irrelevant but an interesting choice of symbol to represent vampires with! Here's a link to some background info:

Was looking at episode again, specifically sequence with scrolls being decoded. He says that these are two pieces of a parchment that has been split into three. Well all I can say is it must be skin from the Incredible Hulk - it's huge.

One question: could Leo be from Trinidad?

After a few seasons any show is likely to jump the shark. What I find impressive about being human is that it's decided to take it that much further. What they've pretty much done is set up the normal shark tank, placed 15 cars filled with catholic school children on either side, lined up a firing squad on each sideline, and strapped the show into an Evil Kenevil outfit... when the air date hit they slapped the now helmeted show on the arse, sent it on it's way, and ignited the cars... as the show left the initial ramp and slowly floated over the shark tank for a final insult a rpg was pulled and shot directly downwards into the tank, eviscerating the shark before the show landed short, flying into bits as it crushed hopes, dreams, and school children. Bravo BBC, bravo.

49 - The triangle shape with the three smaller triangles inside means Death on the final scroll.



For those saying that it might mean a child is born of werewolves in a house where a werewolf, vampire and ghost live I think that sounds too close to the story in the final scroll in the episode to be correct.

Still musing on the two bottom symbols, the two interlocked one could stand for Friendship? (People close together). The Vampire symbol is over the Moon symbol with a person symbol within it, (maybe standing for a person being made a werewolf). George? He had only been a werewolf for six months when he met Mitchell.



So a vampire is watching over a new werewolf in a house with a ghost (completing the Trinity)...and they're friends. Hmm. What do you think?

Loads of different opinions on what the symbols mean. Many people are saying the same thimgs for a couple, then there are a couple that could have multiple meanings. If only we could have a slight clue...

63 - Hi Sasha! @bbcbeinghuman have tweeted to say that this is the first of 8 (yep - eight) scrolls to be deciphered! And Abslom_Deek (from the crew of BH set) tweeted to say that he hopes we were taking notes on Sunday! Taking notes? ...writing a flamin' thesis here..............



By the way, tonight Damien Molony (Hal) can be seen in the National Theatre play, 'Travelling Light' which will be streamed into cinemas up and down the country at 7pm - so check out your local cinema if you want to see it (but I know that many cinemas are already sold out!)

Manc I was going to see Travelling light at my local cinema but I couldn't get there and there wasonly 2 seats left. I was VERY upset!! :(

88 - Hal and Leo prequel was 1955 Manc and I agree that she was probably *living* in the house above the barber shop before they got there. Have looked at fashions from the 50s and her clothes could be early 50s I think.



Maybe it isn't a random thing in that Mitchell found George and then moved into PH with Annie too. Hal finds Leo and moves into house with Pearl. Maybe this is a theme that has run through the ages?

Just a quick Being Human related tangent here. Did anyone just watch The Chase? Because there was a question towards the end and it was "Aiden Turner was an actor portraying a vampire in which BBC drama?" I felt very chuffed that I obviously got that one and that a Being Human question came up XD

If you look at the different pieces of scroll where it shows a pregnancy, the *bump* is always on the left hand side of the symbol - therefore the symbol which is *looking* to the right is a male? Oh I can't explain this, I wish I could put the symbols up

Having looked at photographs of my mum when she was young, dressed up and ready to 'party' at local dances, I can say that Pearls' outfit and hairstyle are in keeping with the early 50's but also could be the late 40s as the post war styles not that different.

How she met up with Leo and Hal I'm hoping will be revealed on Sunday.....loving that trio, Hal, Leo and Pearl: they've loved and cared for each other for 50 years....Hal saying gooodbye to them ( or one of them) is going to be heartbreaking.....*note to self....get a larger box of tissues for Sunday*



Sorry...I have no interest in deciphering the scrolls...I want that sort of 'wow' to come from the series itself...but good luck to those of you who find that sort of thing interesting.



What I do find interesting is the additional vids like the one on Dewi.....I'd also love to see some 'behind the scenes ' action if any of that is available Rebecca...no worries and no pressure!
