Big stain on the floor by the back door.

So glad they've got a plunger for the sink.

Mitchell's old radio wireless, some sherry glasses (Hal? drinking sherry or port? how posh!) plenty of sweets on the right shelf- top right shelf a cowbou, two pirates - yes a pirate theme is starting to show up. Polly the parrot from the first clue... spotted dick? and washing powder 2-in-1...

And that blue perfume bottle started off on Annie's dressing table...

7 Sea, I think the stain looks like a boot print. Perhaps a Paul Smith boot-print...There's a lot of dust on the floor too.

I'm not really thinking of anything particularly big about this. I think it is a representation of characters past, preset and possibly future.

Oh dear, white flowers in the bin with a 'Sympathy' card, can't read the top part. It's a common bereavement bouquet, maybe from Nina's work? I can't imagine it'd be from her family...maybe George's parents, if he's told them. Otherwise hospital staff.



And throwing them in the bin straight away, pretty sure that'll be George's doing, but it's a normal response considering what we've seen of George in the teasers.



Now need to stop focusing on the flowers and look at the rest of the room ^_^

If there is now more to this then I'd say it's dusty and a lot of stains because George has a lack of will to do anything other than protect himself. The flowers I agree with others that they are addressed to George because of Nina.



I gotta say it was easier to deduce things for BcH.

How am I supposed to interact here if my computer takes 10 min to load that picture!? So much frustration going on here..



This just to say that I haven't disappeared, but my internet isn't allowing me to do my BH fan job.

Looks like there's something in the oven *peers* And the dish on the burner. One of the burners is turned on, though it doesn't seem to correspond with where the dish is...not that you'd even cook with that dish on a hob.



I think the oven might be on too. But the place is still caked with dust, and one of the glasses on the metal surface has left a mildewy ring...or something.



Lots of tea bags stored up but none of the jars seem to be very empty, has Annie moved on from her tea habit?

@18 -aquamarine_jo looks like you could be right, either that or they've just not bothered with housekeeping. Maybe they went into hiding after Mitchell's death, then after Nina died, they came back to the only home they had left. The vampires might know about it but at least it's a safer environment for the baby (?)

if they left the house after Mitchell's death, did they run to a safe haven... in Cornwall to be with George's parents, there met Tom who was also going to visit Cornwall to try and find his own family / pack. Are we sure Eve or Fuzzy was born in Barry?

@26 I think it's one of those special lighters with a long neck so you can light the hob without getting burned. We used to buy them by the basketful in uni but the gas ran out too quickly.

Hmmmmm kitchen needs a good clean by the look of it, not very hygenic for raising our Fluffy (not meantioning the dust sniff) lots of tea bags as you'd expect and a random collection of tea pots?

Perfum bottle? attempt to mask the smell of the werewolves from the Vampires?

Got the same storage jar and coffee pot on my shelf in the kitchen. Looks like it all needs a good clean but isn't the 'HOME' picture new? Can't remember seeing that before.

31. The 'HOME' picture and the toy pirates are all new. If you watch 'Though the Heavens Fall' where Herrick stabs Nina and Mitchell holds off the police, these things aren't there.



Think there's a blood stain on the floor near the skirting board and Miss Denton is directing us there with her little cryptic 'skirting the issue' comment.

10 - Blimey Aqua - that's incredible that you knew that about the perfume bottle. But I agree - I'm beginning to think that no-one has been around HH for a while. So if it was abandoned.... then... where did they go?



It's like playing 'spot the difference' this, isn't it? But my very first impression when I looked at the picture was that something wasn't quite right - and I'm not talking about the flowers in the bin. Something is missing, perhaps?

43 - On the back of your comment Fleem - the washing machine is part way into a cycle - unless the staging crew haven't quite set these two appliances to off by accident?



If the house has been empty for a while - as I said earlier - the flowers are still fresh so obviously haven't been there long.

Hello bloggers! It's been a while but it's great to be back! Hello to all of the old guard and welcome to the newbies.



Great to see the blogs so active again and anticipation so high for Sunday, can't wait. I was a big supporter of Nina last year, so was devastated to hear we were losing her too. Basically, I am going to cry on Sunday. I am preparing for this already!



The clues and prequels are all really interesting though and I look forward to over analysing and over investing in the series all over again this year.



I was the person that posted episode reviews last year and we had the Series 3 Fan Awards. Now being drawn to the perfume bottle, thinking it could belong to an Old One, especially with the atomiser attached. Isn't an atomiser a feature of older perfume bottles?

Night Manc. It is an old style of bottle BBD but you can still get them now. But aqua was saying earlier in this blog that the blue bottle used to be in Annie's bedroom. ??? No idea why it is now in the kitchen.

COMPARE AND CONTRAST holding a pic of kitchen background with annie in front: mitchell radio/toaster were there and on mitchell arrest, the lamp shade seems to be different?

Could the fact that on the drainer it looks as if theres only two glasses draining, two mugs, two cereal/soup bowls, two side plates and over by the black dish on the stove top another two cups. So only two people living here at the moment?

Hello I've had a thought (be patient it doesn't happen often) but doesn't that splodge by the skirting look a bit like a foot print and if it is why only one and why heading towards a wall... almost as if there might have been some kind of DOOR someone went through...? Can't wait till Sunday even if I will be missing M.

I think I've stared at the picture too long. I'm sure I can see a face in the top right of the oven doors (the equivalent of seeing Jesus on a slice of toast, probs) and I'm starting to ponder whether the egg cups (2 plain, one fallen, one marked versus 3 shiny ones) mean something (Annie, George, Mitchell and Nina versus Annie, Tom and Hal, maybe?).



Clearly there's a reason why I usually lurk instead of sharing the crazy with you all :P

Hey, Caro I've also been lurking, for a couple of series' and also BcH... Hopefully we don't seem too insane but OH GOD I CAN TOTALLY SEE THE FACE (grey, small, far top right corner? but it looks like a reflection of something in the glass, so i'll dismiss it)



Whoever's still there - George and Annie I'll assume because of the flowers - left in a hurry; quickly pulling off gloves and dropping teatowel/still wet glasses? (reason for wet stains on surface), not turning off gas/oven, etc...

Just don't know the reason. If they did, the flowers are confusing, because they seem like a more recent addition, including an earlier comment about how there are two of everything, maybe the reason the washing up is unfinished is because Nina was stabbed by the sink? - probably not though.

I agree that the toys are possibly due to the new arrival, but the stain on the floor if it is Herricks, the direction away from the kitchen makes sense, if he was unsteady the footfall might have faced the wall...? but there's only ONE footprint, which is the another thing which doesn't make sense to me.

Maybe someone spilt their tea as they were hurriedly leaving.

I'm so excited and I'm not gonna hide it! From the looks of the tea caddies Annie hasn't made tea for some time, maybe since Mitchell. The whole kitchen needs a good clean. In the Radio Times (other tv listings magazines are available) there is quite a huge spoiler that could be linked to this picture.



I need a TARDIS NOW!

Also I cannot take my mind off the amount of egg cups and egg related paraphenalia. Maybe George is keeping chickens for when he needs a midnight snack.

I agree with your take on the toys. Last night before going to bed I googled (as you do) to see if there was a connection between a cowboy, a pirate, a jogger and air hostess (not pc I know). It did come up with some cowboy song sites, etc. but nothing that made much sense.

Hi Saint! On closer inspection, the ship's mate toy you describe is in fact looking like that to me now. The thing in his left hand - well okay his cutlass then - well I thought that was a button on the wall heater behind them. Also hadn't noticed the torn trouser leg - but had noticed the beard - very manicured looking for a pirate ;-) Well done you. Still don't get what it means though.

I guess I just havent got my crazy head on today as I got nada !!!

I did notice pirate with sabre (cutlass..??) seems to be holding his chest as he's waving his weapon at our Air hostess(ooo eeerrr)......Is this sybolising a female character leaving (nina - we know that though..??)

@sasha if you look at the door with the strips when you open and enlarge you can see a strip which is green has strangely fallen over the other stripes??? can't believe I am actually looking at a wall papered door? would surely not happen in real life, can't abide stripes on wallpapers

Morning! It's been a busy night/early morning already. Was watching 'Longest Day' and 'Daddy Ghoul' last night and there are quite a lot of kitchen scenes in that and the first thing that struck me was that in those shots, the kitchen looked more like that of a B&B, lots of catering packs of ketchup, utensils to cater for large groups of people whereas this picture somehow looks more 'homely' (dirty, yes) and not unlike the shared kitchens that I have had to endure over the years. Not sure what that means, though.

The roasting tin was there last year, but on the mantelpiece, not on the hob.

Another thought I had about the flowers: on the rare occassions I get them, I have sometimes had to put them in a bin (with water) because I didn't have a vase big enough for them. So perhaps they haven't necessarily been thrown away, just didn't have anywhere else to put them in water?

Lots to ponder indeed...
