New to BH? Watch out, this post contains spoilers from series one...
Time for the final director's commentary from Colin Teague, and it's perhaps the most mysterious of them all. What is written on the wall?Who is the mysterious interviewer? And most importantly, will any of these questions be answered in series two? I have a feeling they might...

I did not like this ending, I don't like the threat to our threesome...but the I suppose there would not be much of a series 2 without the threat!!
But some fab 'mad' acting from Greg.
Thanks Colin and team

I wondered though, if America gets the very Britishness(?) of the humour. Would they understand that if you took part in a 'peedo witch hunt' against your neighbours, then on finding out you were wrong, you thought the best way to say sorry is to make jam for them....not sure. They also 'whoop' alot don't they?, Americans, not neighbours.
Anyway really good

Yeah Americans and their humourless whooping is almost as bad as us binge drinking, sarcastic, tight-lipped, castle dwelling British people. Don't even get me started on the French. ;)

I quickly realized that BBBA was not the best place to watch to get the full effect (although it did introduce me to the series)and nuances of the show. You know the adage of "If you look hard enough, you just might find it." :) We (the wife and I) watched the first 5 episodes, then Being Human: Unearthed and finally episode 6. Just some observations/musings from me. 1. I hope they upgrade the current fully transformed werewolf model. It's a little cheesy. I do believe I read some place that someone affiliated with the show stated this would happen, so yay on that. 2. If Nina could calm George in werewolf form, can anyone, thing, etc bring it out of him? Essentially, each episode occurs about every 28 days (since George changes each episode). Maybe the writes can come up with something that allows him to change more often (a curse from a witch perhaps?), or allows him to change at will. Of course, the downside is we couldn't see our hero George taking on vampires with a chair! 3.The gloves Mitchell wears most all the time looks more like something Gilbert would wear. He should lose them. 4. George's comment that you don't invite neighnor into you house until you've nodded at them for 15 years because you are British was hilarious to me, simply because around here we wave at practically everybody, strangers and all. There's more, but these 12 hour shifts get to be long, my break is over, and I have patients to attend to.

2 - Hmm I hope not I never liked the werewolves who can change at will thing - it's meant to be a curse if you could change at will then that'd be a good thing - we, well I, kinda figured that the reason he calmed at seeing Nina was that she was now "one of them" animals will protect their own kinda thing...
3 - Don't knock the fingerless gloves lol we did have a whole theory about sub concious messages and good vs evil and then Aidan does an interview and ruins it by saying "it was just cold" lol so bang went that theory - series 2 starts filming in a week though so maybe summer filming might get rid of the gloves :-(
4 - That was funny such a British thing that I never really understood I have a tendancy to talk to anyone and everyone (something my mother is still convinced will get me into trouble one day lol) but yeah its a very English - keep yourself to yourself stiff upper lip thing which is kinda ridiculous.
Oh and I kind of agreed with your wife lol I loved Guy as Mitchell and he was fantastic but I do agree that Aidan's better for the show - more human and sort of normal looking (VF dont worry thats not a bad thing!) whereas Guy was more kinda quirky which I liked but for the show the idea is that they have to blend in so bye bye Guy :-(

The opposite effect of what Nina does to him apparently. I think the gloves take away from the look he is trying to achieve, but thats just my opinion. As for the pilot, Mitchell with a parasol (or was that a weak umbrella?) totally kills the image of the dark, brooding (insert cliche' here) vampire. No more parasols please. As or the series overall, I wish they had not killed Herrick. "What did you think I was all this time, a kiss-o-gram?" To be a villian, he was a joy to watch. The scene where he asked George something along the lines of "What did you expect us to do" and George replied "Kiss?" was priceless. I'll have to rewatch the episodes while on vacation next week and see if I've missed anything. Maybe we'll have an episode where one of the cast members visits his cousin in the southern US. They could discuss the culture differences between them while eating cheese biscuits, grits, bacon and eggs and drinking sweet iced tea.... and have a good ol' pick picking in the evening. Can you hear the arteries clogging from there? :)

We all know it wasn't that cold to require fingerless gloves. Remember when he was wearing that thin t-shirt with the gloves in the behind the scenes bit? He wasn't even filming then. The gloves were just fashionable last year. Emo-esque.
AT is great as the new Mitch but Guy was a little darker and had a more brooding quality which was better suited to the pilot Mitch.
Nina only calmed George because he realised that she was also a werewolf.
Herrick was fantastic.

That is not meant to be a knock against the actress in the pilot, as I'm sure most of the posters here would have a hard time understanding me due to my accent, but Lenora's accent is not as thick.

BBC1 yay I'm happy for the show but like you say I kinda hope it stays BBC3 - maybe it'll go the torchwood route though - 3,2,1 lol work its way up. I kinda thought it might be moving because BBC3 have started those "born on three" adverts with all brilliant shows that started there then moved on basically BBC3 jumping up and down going "oi, oi that was ours first!" BBC3 has always sort of been the guinea pig hasn't it - like E4 in a way mostly new British stuff and then padded out with American stuff (although maybe family guy and friends deserve a better title than "padding" lol)

Ahem. Friends is not padding. It's my staple tv diet.

*waves at people who've appeared* Hi! it's great to hear some new input on the show. We've been here talking for so long that we've kind of exhausted the subject. But now you're hear to give a new perspective on it all. I like the Nina is a witch idea, but I don't think that's what it is really. It would be a bit weird for her to be a werewolf and a witch... but still good idea!
*waves at sperkii* Heya.
I'm gonna second the friends is not padding thing. It's the main thing that I've been watching lately. lol gotta have my Friends fix. :p

I forgot about D.R :-S how bad's that I guess because I know the story its not as addictive because you already know whats going to happen - it is brilliant though will download it maybe watch it tomorrow but Im kind of in a sci fi mood at the minute

Wow, the blog woke up again! And hurray at BH on TV again - I deleted my recorded episodes when the DVD arrived before I realised they changed the music :(
Didn't the mysterious man at the end of Ep 6 intimate (is that the right word?) that Owen couldn't get out because it's secure, and with the policeman saying he'll need a different form, I sort of assumed it was a mental institution rather than a prison, but don't remember anybody actually saying it anywhere.
Liking the idea of Nina having been burned at the stake in the past...can't believe we hadn't thought of that one, what with all the other weird stuff we were suggesting, like succubi and wizards etc lol
Am enjoying D.R as well, although having to record it - don't think my hubby can stand all the drooling that happens everytime Rosetti comes on screen, especially after last week!!!!!

Anyway as I am currently at work and trying to maintain the appearance of a cool, together, capable woman would you please not mention Rossetti again. I am a little concerned about passing out on such a grubby floor...will be home just after three!
