New to BH? Watch out, this post contains spoilers from series one...
While Toby is busy sweating over a Word document as he writes the eagerly awaited Series 2 of Being Human, we have a behind-the-scenes treat from Series 1 for your delectation...
Before the BH cast and crew descended on sunny Bristol to shoot Series 1, the team squeezed into a cosy room for read-throughs of the script. In script read-throughs, such as this one of episode 6, the actors get to know their characters, and each other, as well as eating lots of biscuits.
Fancy a look? Well here you go...

I LOVE Russell Tovey and have since I saw him at the National Theatre in the History Boys a couple of years ago. Since we don't get all the good stuff here in Norway, I buy alot of BBC series from Amazon. Life on Mars, Nighty Night (really funny!), Primeval, Cranford, etc. and of course Being Human. I'm so glad a second series is coming next year. Just wish I could get it on TV instead of having to wait for the DVD.
I am not your typical twenty-something(the main target group for BH)...I'm a 58 year old drama teacher originally from the US. I just can't get enough of quality British acting. I get over to London several times a year for theatre as well as watching British TV. Maybe I'll move to England when I retire!
Looking forward to series 2 of BH!

We got Life on Mars-series 1 here on NRK (Norwegian National Television). Actually, they show alot of British TV. We've had Rebus and some Waking the Dead, Ab- Fab, Black Adder. Norwegians LOVE Mr. Bean. BBC Entertainment is our satelite channel. We get stuff a long time after you've seen it. Endless reruns of Keeping Up Appearances and the Vicar of Dibley. They ran the second season of Hustle, which I loved, and The Long Firm...Mark Strong is wonderful.
I'm looking forward to Ashes to Ashes, but I have a feeling it's not going to be as good as Life on Mars. I'll miss John Sim. But as you say, Gene Hunt is a great character and Glenister is really great in the part.

but there are some good american ones too - i mean obviously friends - it really was a briliant show and i love the cartoon ones - the simpsons, family guy and americn dad - brilliant - seth macfarlane really is a genius.
The theory is that laughing is a group thing - and that you're more likely to laugh in a group and canned laughter's supposed to give you that feeling and sort of gives you permission to laugh if you like and also it's meant to recreate a sort of theatre atmosphere. Most film in front of a live audience now though where possible and if not they'll sometimes show the program to a live audience after its been made (they did that with red dwarf because of the special effects etc i think...)

also, i am pretty damn sure i saw marcus whitney, the BH make-up artist on whiteladies road yesterday, so if you see him could you let him know that the girl whose head did a 180 as she walked by staring at him was a BH fan who couldn't quite place him until she was too far away and too late for work to run back and bow at his feet? thanks.
When i did place him i got really overexcited for a second and thought they were already inproduction for series 2 .. and then i thought.. no, hang on, toby's still writing it.
oh well, will continue living in the hope that i will someday round a corner and find the whole crew filming a big scene...

no i have been too afraid of being labeled a 'stalker' to even message toby. i just silently hover on his profile about once a day and read his latest status updates and laugh at all his friends' hilarious jokes and imagine what it would be like to be a member of the whithouse 'inner circle'...
but seen as you've messaged and got away with it i might just send a quick polite note of praise.. but then again i don't want to drive him to change his privacy settings and shut me out!

lol his "inner circle" - ahh i was almost in one of those - im still waiting for the day when my ex gets a tv job and turns up on my screen with some little blonde on his arm lol he was a complete pillock but id like to think that all those hours running lines with him werent entirely wasted...
