Got it!! The Chronicles of Narnia films. I remember the actors saying in an interview that Prince Caspiam was much more scary because, instead fo the enemy being from myth and magic, it was human.

*wracks brains to figure out how a human could be a greater threat than Herrick* couldn't a vampire/or a werewolf just kill a human? I'm intrigued as to what will happen.

A human is a more scary threat because it could actually happen. It's more chilling than a fantasy enemy beacuse it's closer to home. I reckon.

Yes for us, definitely. And it will certainly test the characters' desire to 'be human' - after the behaviour in episode 4 was enough to turn Mitchell back to the vampires. Maybe they'll be hunted down - didn't Toby say they get separated in the new series.

I think it will be interesting to see what happens with the main 3. Annie has become more powerful/confident and I think will become more independent. George has a relationship that possibly would be more intense cos it's with another werewolf. Maybe Mitchell will feel a bit left out.

Hahahaha, just watching episode 6 again and the fact that the vamp in the flashback was talking about '10 years younger' just cracked me up. I think I was so wired about what would happen to Mitchell and Annie before that I didn't give much thought to that bit. Brilliant. I love those little touches.

aww no this really is it, and this has been a rubbish saturday already! the last few weeks i have been counting down the hours to the online episodes, damn we will all have to resume to real life once again, good job the snowstorms are nearly over and summer isn't too far away now! hope you don't wait till next year to bring out the second series, but then again you can't rush a materpiece! just keep us all up to date with whats happening and stuff. x x

I'm glad the guy at the end probably isn't supernatural. I was thinking it would be good if the bad guy was a human. It makes it creepier somehow. I suppose whatever they would do is probably motivated in the first plcae by fear of the unknown, but the way that a lot of people would react to that is worse than anything even Herrick could come up with. Like in episode 4. I think it's an interesting thing for a show like this to explore!

i_am_nic I agree. That's what I love about this show; I am a fan of the vamp/supernatural genre anyway but BH is a very observant portrayal of human behaviour as well. As I said before, I think it'll be chilling because somehow, if you are shown all these terrible 'monsters' and even THEY are scared of a HUMAN, it makes you realise the scary potential of human power.

Yeah it could be really good. There are loads of ways they could do it, as it was a 'professor' at this moment I'm thinking the most likely is probably someone wanting to experiment on them or try to use their supernatural 'powers' for something... But then that's all a bit Heroes I guess... We'll just have to wait and see!

Ok so sorry if you already know but in case you dont - I have just heard from a reliable source that they are due to start filming series 2 in august :-)

If thats true at least they wont be too cold this time around lol

I though Owen was very well written and that Greg was an excellent actor. I have said somewhere else on here that it absolutely captures the skillful, manipulative tactics used by an abusive partner. I can see how he doesn't appeal as a character but I think it was a perfect portrayal, both in writing and acting.

And (now I'm not going to be massively popular) I don't really get the Seth obsession people seem to have. He was ok but not amazing. My least favourite character by far was Tully though. Although even his character showed that Mr Whithouse is very observant when it comes to human personalities and cultures.

Yeah dont get me wrong greg is a good actor and as all of the characters he was well written and yes he does capture the essence of an abuser (i think janeys line in episode 5 sums it up "no he wouldnt im just going mad thats all" the fact shed rather believe shes going mad than that hed ever do anything to harm her) i dont know i just never took to him and now i think about it i really cant put my finger on why

I dont think its so much a seth obsession as a dylan one if im honest although i do really like the character i think just next to herrick he really worked - herrick was the cool confident charming evil, whereas seth was slightly pathetic and sleazy (and until his death scene in ep 5 and the george incident episode 6 i was convinced he might come up good in the end - but perhaps not lol)

However, as much as id like him back in the show im not sure hed work without herrick? i think it was because of the contrast that it worked?

Yeah id like to know that i hope we find out in series 2 - or maybe we are meant to wonder - i suppose the idea was that she had secrets - we're kind of georges side if that makes sense - we see george in his life and in his home and know all of his secrets so i guess whats secret from him has to be from us? Im pretty sure we'll only find out when he does.



Oh and i know the feeling - i actually pulled all the furniture out and cleaned behind it lol im pretty sure no sane person does that - either that or im just mucky usually lol got my parcel from amazon today though - new book and new dvd to keep me occupied for a while :-( and i still have 2 days before episode 6 runs out on my i player :-)

I have been cleaning too. Bathroom done, hoovering, washing, ironing- all done.

Tully on why he found George: "because....... safety in numbers" add in the space- because I'm lonely.

I think if Tully showed a bit more vulnerability, like when he said about how he had had a family before, I might like him more. He was a bit too one dimensional to make him a character I'd like to see back again, unless he developed a bit more.

"Does a chicken have a teeth"- I hate this line, reminds of a constantly repeated line/episode of my life but still I can see it might be cute.



Tully has constant vulnerability, you just have to know what you're are looking for. I've seen this character at least 3 times in my short lifetime. There's another word for them but I can't say it on here incase I'm breaking the rules again. ;)

epic scene just gone with all 3. too much to comment on; turning point of things with character development, lines etc but snowstorms are definitely called snowglobes where I'm from. *carries on watching*

(I reckon) Main points of series 1 to be updated:

Mitchell- Bernie.

Annie- other ghosts (and Owen).

George- Nina.

Ok, so I had a random thought...I know Mr Whithouse cleared up the whether or not Nina would give birth to a baby werewolf but I just wondered...what happens if a human woman who is pregnant with a human baby, but has been infected by a werewolf, goes into labour on a night of the full moon?



Or did we decide that a woman infected by a werewolf just couldn't have children at all?

Erm.. dunno because it's all make believe but I reckon George would practise safe sex.

Can I just say I eat humble pie. Epi 6 was kick ass after all (after 2 watches-maybe the soundtrack lacked i'm not sure).

Watkins and Tovey totally sold the script.

One thing I'd like to see in series 2 is how will Nina react to Mitchell and Annie. Presumably George told her what they were as well. I can see her getting on OK with Annie but how will she feel about Mitchell esp. when she finds out he killed/vamped Lauren who then killed Becca. Can't see her taking that quite so easily. Classic situation of friction between girlfriend and dodgy best mate with hapless George stuck in the middle.

I quite like the idea of a human enemy. Particularly as the main characters are trying to be human too (as another mentioned above.)



Rather than 'the Professor' and his people being scientists who wish to experiment on supernaturals, I think it would be interesting if they were actually coming from a human moral standpoint. I.e. they see supernaturals as evil and to be slain.



It would show an interesting ambiguity. Monsters trying to be good vs. humans, being monstrously ruthless in their pursuit in what they believe to be the right thing.

As for Seth, judging by the stake stuck through his chest, I'm thinking he is a goner.



True, we didn't see him crumple into dust (which doesn't mean he didn't off-screen of course. There are only so many advanced affects like that a low budget show can afford.) That stake was pretty central though. I don't think 'some will come back' includes the dead, dead. (Bearing in mind vampires and ghosts are just singular dead. ;) )



I think we might see Tully again though. It would be interesting to see if there is a werewolf community analogue to the vampires too, or are they all loners? Wolves are supposed to be pack animals after all.

perhaps its like a recessive werewolf gene and you need one from each parent before it works????

In which case, I go back to my original question of what happrens if the female werewolf goes into labour when she's due to change?

I think that's the point, although I'd be thoroughly creeped out by an Owen who managed to be still likable at all. Owen's a dead ringer for my last boss, which is awkward since he's still a friend, yet looks like someone who cheated on, then killed his fiancée. (There are two Es in fiancée.)
