OK I'm going to say that actors and other staff behind the scene stuff would be great, competitions, give aways for items (signed scripts and stuff would be A_f_mazing), Comps for dedicated bloggers to go behind the scenes (as long as they aren't girly psychos-no one wants to see that) and I'm still waiting on those Uggs btw. There are so many things that I would 'love' for... set things in the house tbh.



I know loads of great, fresh'ish ways to boast young blog ratings for very little money but I'm so not going to tell you because it would make me feel dirty and this blog would turn into yuck within minutes. I hope that dedicated BH nuts who pushed for this series will get the best of these offers. But someat tells me it'll be a free for all this time next feb with plenty of upset.

Ok what would we like to see... erm everything you said really - a quick chat with toby let us know how things are going, and some behind the scenes videos while filming would be brilliant (obviously as long as they dont give anything away!) and i like the idea of the polls i tried asking which was peoples favourite episode/favourite moment etc but the comment got removed for some reason!

Yeah outtakes great idea would love to see that - my favourite bits are the videos by the cast - we really like seeing the cast and crew as themselves so yeah outtakes etc would be brilliant and any deleted scenes? if there were any.

Any chance of a bit of a style overhaul? For example, have you seen the Horne and Corden mini-site? It's stunning! I'd love a little more colour, and to get it optimised for 1024x768 resolution instead of the old 800x600. It'd be great to see the gallery used a bit more, and the links in the sidebar could be updated to reflect more recent news (Narin has posted quite a few BH articles since the one linked).



Purely as an example, I've always really admired the Skins mini-site over on E4; it has an attractive design and the content is great, particularly the cast blogs and the pictures section. The latter would be great for showing series 2 production :)

...and more in the spirit of what you were actually asking before I went off on a design rant, do you think there might be enough footage to get another round of video diaries? They were by far the best part of the blog :D

yes and agree with more video diaries...it felt like the first lot were really edited down to just the funniest/best moments.. don't feel you have to spoon feed us the gold! I want the lead too!

Maybe the video diaries could be more of a regular feature of series two... but perhaps the actor could take you through the making of a particular episode, instead. Taking shots of the cameras and setup, having a quick chat with a crew member integral to one of the scenes, showing the director interacting with the actors, etc. It wouldn't need to be one of the main cast either, I really enjoy seeing the supporting cast in the blog. it would be a more personal way of taking us behind the scenes, plus you'd still get all the adorable goofing around that the three of them enjoy so much :D

yeah that sounds awesome! just anything that gets us a little more insight into how all the elements of a scene/episode come together..



and i wouldnt want to give the cast too much extra work - i want them to give the best performances they can... but as lenora's diary showed, they've got time for reading the paper and impromptu dance recitals, so i think they've got time for a tad more fan-pleasing!

Another plea from a fan outside the UK. BBC has been so good to upload the blog videos to You Tube, but we are still anxiously waiting for Russell's video diary and his Q&A. Any idea when these may be posted?

I can't tell you how relieved I am that the blog will continue. It's fantastic news that Toby will be updating us re: series 2 from time to time. Without too much being given away I'd be interested to know how the characters will be developed further and how fantastic Herrick's character can ever be matched. I'd also like to know how the crew go about selecting such fantastic music for the show. Do they trawl through their own CD collections? Can't wait to see all the coming news!

Yes of course Ive got it....Toby could write me in as Mitchell's love interest. A slightly mature woman(41) as I think he would relate to somone a bit more worldly; with a bit of a mysterious past perhaps something to do with the new villain. Oh Toby we so need to talk!

1) This is mainly about the DVD of Being Human. Maybe, (if you haven't already, of coarse) deleted scenes, outtakes, commentries on the DVD and not just on the website? That'd be brilliant for someone like me with no speakers (lol).



2) I saw a couple of people talked about the gallery and adding mroe photos and screensavers. But maybe wallpapers? So we can drool over Mitchell and George everytime we go on our computers?



Thank yoooou yet again for this, it's great that you're involving the brilliant Being Human fans in everything. Not many producers, writers, etc. would even think of doing that. :-)

A big thanks to sperkii for pointing me in the right direction for Toby's interview - lots of insight. When I've tried to convert people to Being Human I've often described it as "This Life" meets gothic horror - must be the twenty somwthing house share thing.



You know what thank God for BBC3 otherwise I wonder if such fantastic dramas such as BH would ever reach us at all. I mean I loved "Ideal" that was commissioned for about 4 series but never got beyond BBC3 and starred Jonny Vegas. It's so great to have writers and production prepared to take a bit of a chance. Will get off soap box now and enjoy mellow red wine!

No, that's EXACTLY what I think. I think it's actually shameful that people would say that they can't afford to give to charity but then they buy the latest gadgets and clothes and go out drinking etc. It's unforgivable really. No matter how poor we are, there are people who are far less fortunate than us and we have a duty to help them, even if with just £1 or 50p.

I actually feel guilty every time I drink clean water, eat a meal etc etc if I haven't given at least a small amount of money to charity every year. We take SO much or granted. Plus even if people TRULY just can't afford to pay money to charity themselves, they can always do something to get sponsorship from others and still make a difference

Exactly - i know its hard for a few weeks surrounding things like comic relief and children in need we go all charity minded but then we forget about it for the rest of the year :-( its shameful really but as long as we give something some time it is always better than nothing like they said - £5 can really save a life - whats that? the price of a pizza? its less than an hours pay for most people - would you work for less than an hour to save a childs life? i think put to a lot of people like that they would jump at the chance...

Yeah i really like the fact some of the money stays in the uk - there are some amazing charities here as well as in Africa - thats the great thing about comic relief it helps such a broad range of charities

I really don't care if people are annoyed with us for this eagle; for once I don't feel bad in the slightest for highjacking the BH forum! This is important!

The thing I love about Comic Relief as well, is that you can trust them with your money - I have worked for a well known animal charity and it surprised, and disheartened, me where their money went. Comic Relief, Shelterbox, Prince's Trust & Royal British Legion are my fave charities. Even 50p or £1 people, PLEASE.

I dont mind about annoying people with this either to be honest - you're right it is important and people shouldnt get annoyed - if they do im imagining its mainly guilt.



Woohoo on a lighter note lots of nice men getting naked now - another reason i love comic relief lol.



Something that really sent a wobble through me the other day (i work with kids) and we were talking about red nose day and about people who dont have a tv or a nintendo ds etc and how some of them cant even afford to buy food - a little boy came up to us at the end and told me that he gets his pocket money on saturday and if he gives it me will i buy them all a mcdonalds. made me laugh and well up a bit at the same time - kids may be blunt at time but also they can be incredibly sweet.

- Competitions where you win summat interesting a dinner date with Mitchell?? ;) or just a a day watching filming/interview with one of the cast/ being an extra.



- Peetaking episode just on the web. Perhaps the ol classic of a dream sequence each, where all manner of rediculous things can happen. Ie role swap, George becomes the ultimate cool vampire, and even gets to have a love affair, except it's with Herrick or Seth in sexy lauren style clothes. Annie turns hairy and scary, Mitchel minces about in grey flappy clothes a curly wig and uggs.

Wow that is SUCH an interesting genesis story. I really like that the characters began simply as human beings with human problems. Mitchell as a recovering sex addict? LOL. I guess that's still kind of true actually.. All those problems stayed with them.. just with an added... twist!

Well Mitchell is kind of still a sex addict - obviously theres the blood addiction but Mitchell more than the other vampires seems to have a liking for what has become known as "the lauren treatment" lol his weakness seems to be for the sexy ladies - his lust is very much tied in with his addiction - whereas Herrick and the others just seem to want the blood no matter who it really comes from (ahem Nana!)

I'm not convinced Mitchell's vampirism is just about the sex (as in only choosing pretty girls). Throughout the series it was mentioned several times that Mitchell had killed/fed from other men --- so either it's not always about sex or Mitchell is more broad minded than we realise :)

I agree jaynedoll; in the past Mitchell has almost been full of contempt for his victims saying that they almost run towards their death be they male or female. But I think more recently when trying to close the gap between his vampire self and humanity he is behaving more like the hetrosexual male that he aspires to be i.e. too gorgeous for words!

I know this is completely different to what we are chatting about, but do we know when filming is starting for the series 2? Also are they holding auditions?????? Im a treu bristolian and looooove this programme!!

Apparently Toby doesn't know as much as he or the

production company should (prior post from

"Production").



Having watched (and greatly enjoyed) the entire

series, it's a real pity that such liberties are

being taken with so many well established and

powerful aspects of the lycan and vampyric mythos'.



The first thing that gets me when George, unless

he's simply being hyperbolic, says, that he's not

immortal... Of course both Lycans and Vampyres are

immortal (barring a good slaying that is of course);

and both creatures heal almost instantly...



Lycan senses are elevated all the time - as are

a vampyre's. And WTF is up with Mitchell eating

and drinking food/beer/etc?! he's dead - no digestive

system; no working renal function (he doesn't pee nor

poop)... I could go on but I won't.



I'm all for creative license with regard to reinventing

elements and adding to them, but please, let's do keep

the basics intact - they make for a much better show

and adventure.



In other news, I'm beside myself with joy at knowing

that there will be a second series to this excellent

show - other than the mucking about with the mythos'

foundations, the writing has been spot on and kept

me entranced and hugely entertained and definitely wanting

more, with each episode.

After months of trawling through the plethora of extraterrestrial and supposedly horror series with production content and that over serious, self-satisfied acting and direction more scary than the content, along comes a well written series with characters with 3 dimentions. I care about these people, I have great fear of their enemies. The refreshingly human dialogue and simple direction brings this series to a level where the viewer can see that the dilemmas involved do not necessarily have to be that of a Vampire a werewolf or a ghost. We can find all of our own truths in their actions. Long may it last.
