This is brilliant! I really look forward to watching. Am I right in thinking that Russell Tovey is the only original actor from the pilot? Not that it will stop me wacthing but , out of interest, why did the other two actors not appear in the show?

Will this be available on BBC HD?

This Show is so cool and I can not wait for it to come back. Is the First Episode going to be the same as the Pilot but only with New Actors?



Is it starting soon or do we have to wait months? You can at least tell us that.

According to the BBC press office the first episode will air w/c 24th Jan, thou it has not been placed yet, so no specific time or date yet...

I cant wait any more. I've watched the pilot 4 times in the last week. I think my excitement for this show exceeds any excitement I've ever had for a tv program. Timed perfectly with the release of Underworld - Rise of the Lycans.

I loved the pilot and so did my grown children. It's a brilliant concept and has so many possibilities.





But like everyone else I want the date so I can sky plus it, I would hate to miss it and I don't like viewing things on i player.( maybe that's my age!)

Hey all glad this fantastic show is finally getting the full series treatment it deserves, must say tho' I am a tad skeptical at the two new actors taking over the roles of Mitchell and Annie.....now don't wish to sound like i'm knocking them or anything as haven't seen them playing the characters but just wondered why the originals were replaced....Guy Flanagan was truly excellent as the intelligent, reserved almost Byron like Vamp.....so why the change? As for Andrea Riseborough well.......truly outstanding she played the annoying ghost Annie perfectly.....please if anyone can shed a light why they were replaced, it help us the avid viewer understand how pilot to full series are created

Never before have I been moved to phone the BBC and ask them to commission a programme - but I did when I saw the pilot of this one!



Excellent news - looking forward to it (despite getting rid of my tv! I'll have to go to my partner's house to watch it!)

I myself loved the pilot of being human, i also contacted the bbc and praised the show. I am so pleased that it is coming back to our screens. It is a shame that two of the original actors will not be in the show, but hey i am sure that it is about the concept of the show let's give the newbies a go.

I never watched the pilot so I don’t know what to expect but the promos have me excited. I can hardly wait.

Looking forward to it myself. Similar to MsMoll, after watching the pilot I contacted the Beeb to ask for the series, so I'm delighted to see it's (finally!) nearly here.

Well done BBC Three I watched the pilot of this show and though it well deserving of a full series (original and well made). Cant to tune in !!!!!! howwwwwwww howwwwwww (SORRY poor werewolf impression lol)

Mitchell's story reminds me of an earlier incarnation of a vampire loathing their lifestyle and wanting to fit in to human society. The series was 'Forever Knight' and the character Nicholas De Brabant, was played by Welsh Canadian actor Geraint Wyn Davies (who *really* needs to be encouraged to have a guest slot in 'Dr Who'!) back in the 1990's to great effect. In this incarnation the 800 year old vampire and ex-cruisader becomes Nick Knight, a homicide detective in Toronto. I hope that this will measure up to that series.

I am gutted. I loved the pilot, signed the on-line petition, and campaigned for god knows how long to get this commissioned. New series - SUCCESS I thought! The BBC were finally listening! Then OH what a suprise! They're changing it to appeal to a "younger" audience, dumbing down the plot and have taken on 2 actors who in my opinion are no more than eye candy having seen their performances in other series'. Russel Tovey is amazing and I fear he will be the only remaining positive thing about this show. Even the joke in the trailer is sssoooo lame! What ARE you people thinking? The pilot was a SUCCESS for a REASON! People wanted it made into a series because THE PILOT WORKED and you've done the inevitable and thought, "hey, we've got something really good here, let's change it and make it unbearable garbage!" I wouldn't have blamed Russell for jumping ship after reading the BBC's press release regarding this new series.

As far as I am aware the series hasn't started yet. How can such rash assumptions be made after seeing a few on-line teasers and one TV advert. I do not agree that any dumbing down has occurred. After just watching the transformation of George I can not imagine how this idea arose. It looks brilliant.

When I heard that 'Being Human' was being commissioned I nearly peed my pants! I was one of the people that emailed the BBC begging for this to be commissioned.



I read a lot supernatural fiction but as a television series this stood out to me as you could do so much with these characters. The premise was great, three supernaturals living in a house together trying to live a normal life.



I thought the pilot was a well thought out, had a good script (not excellent) but what made it was the performances the original actors gave. The original cast clearly had chemistry! This meant the audience bonded with the characters.



The producers have taken a great risk replacing the actors. This is often the problem when programmes get commisioned. People get so carried away with getting out there they forget what made it good in the first place.



Guy Flanagan and Andrea Riseborough are clearly very talented actors.



Just think of this:



Would have Spaced worked if they had replaced Jessica Stevenson, Nick Frost or Simon Peg. I don't think so!!!!



You cant just change actors and hope on one notices. If you couldn't get the all the original cast you should have left as it was, an excellent pilot!



The producers had a chance to do some special here and possibly create a wonderful series. However, without the original cast they may have inadvertently created tat!



I have seen the trailers and the replacements do not seem convincing in their roles. I haven't seen the 1st episode (obviously) so my comments may seem rather sweeping.



I will watch it on Sunday and be the first person to correct myself if I am wrong but I don't think I am!

sorry kate i do not work for the bbc just a huge fan of the show and as far as i am aware i only posted one blog, however i loved the show last night and will be watching every week

Ive seen the first episode six times now. Very much ready for episode two now but still loving one.

Well I was wondering when we will see the second series. All 3 actors are brilliant. Aidan Turner looks so menacing then with one smile his whole face lights up. I love the show and really like the characters, no wonder there is a cult following.
