SOAK Nominated for Mercury Prize 2015

SOAK’s ‘Before We Forgot How To Dream’ has been announced as one of the 12 shortlisted albums for this year’s Mercury Prize.

The debut album from Bridie-Monds-Watson was described by the judging panel as ‘…wistful, unsettling and mesmerising’ and features alongside 11 other albums nominated for this year’s prize.

The full list of nominees is:

  • Benjamin Clementine - At Least For Now
  • Gaz Coombes – Matador
  • C Duncan – Architect
  • Eska - Eska
  • Florence + The Machine - How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful 
  • Ghost Poet - Shedding Skin
  • Jamie xx - In Colour
  • Roisin Murphy - Hairless Toys
  • Slaves - Are You Satisfied
  • SOAK - Before We Forgot How To Dream
  • Wolf Alice - My Love Is Cool

The shortlist was revealed today on BBC Radio 6 Music and the winner, who will pick up a £20,000 prize, will be announced live on Friday 20th November on BBC 4 & BBC Radio 6 Music. 

It could be a busy November for SOAK with a nomination for the NI Music Prize already confirmed.
