THE SHOUT - Demons

Thursday 29th September, 2016

They say:

“This song was one of three new songs in which we wrote for our new EP "Nowhere To Go But Home". Demons was our favourite song to record as this was a re-birth for the band. We have been spending a lot of time trying to find our sound as a band and we really think we have achieved this as it has a heavier fuller sound but also keeping the catchy lyrics that tell a story in which we think people can relate to.

The song started off as any other, in a practice room just jamming ideas from all five of the band members and it kind of just came together. You can really hear all of our influences shine through and this is exactly what we wanted to do.

Colm Cunningham (vocalist): ‘Demons is about being stuck in a rut and feeling lost in the world and trying to find your place. I wrote the lyrics as a way to help myself express how I was feeling and it was my way of letting go of the past and moving forward.’”

We say:

“Tortured, angst-ridden vocals, a consummate understanding of solid songwriting and a punch-the-air chorus that cries out for late-night sing alongs all come together to make this latest offering from THE SHOUT something to remember. Demons is an anthemic pop-punk behemoth, and it feels like the Warrenpoint five-piece have found their (appropriately raucous) voice.”

Catch THE SHOUT live when they support Car Chase City at The Goat’s Toe, Bangor on 28th October. Latest EP ‘Nowhere To Go But Home’ is available now.
