Civil Simian – What Is This
Civil Simian is an alternative rock band from Belfast, going since 2010.
They Say: “The inspiration for the lyrics and the music is the idea that humans are pattern seeking animals. They attempt to ascribe to the randomness and chaos of nature some kind of pattern, which sometimes exists, but sometimes is illusory. The false epiphanies which this can lead to are at once beautiful in and of themselves, as stories created by humans, in which humans find comfort and meaning, but are at the same time sad, and ultimately empty.”
We say: “This sounds like the making of a James Bond soundtrack, with formidable vocals from Ruari McCloskey and dramatic staccato guitar. After which in the song journey, you are taken to a dreamy ethereal place - ideal to linger in.”
