Ewan Friers, of Axis Of and ASIWYFA brings us more music but this time, under the name CATALAN! Fusing fizzy guitars, synth bass grooves, and stream of consciousness lyrics, CATALAN draws inspiration in everything, from world music to hip hop.
Ewen adds an engaging social commentary layer to this eclectic sound, creating what he calls ‘danceable indie rock rants.’
“Whilst Axis Of is in hibernation I wanted to create a more edgy, tense, project lyrically and musically something with more world influence and groove. A project driven by the lyrics and spirit but one that you could dance to!” said Ewen.
‘Cornelius’ is out NOW, with a new EP to follow in early 2019.
