My Tribe Your Tribe – Garden Song
Thursday 3rd March 2016
They Say: “Sometimes you can struggle to get to the finish line of a song's writing but the lyrics and melody for Garden Song practically fell out - over a couple of quick coffees when I was living in Dublin. It was one of those times where you forget about what you think you should write, and you just let happen what needs to happen. To me, the song represents a childlike fantasy of idyllic relationships. It felt right to sing the melody with a kind of naive-optimism, like you would hear in a musical and it's a fun process to package up negative scenarios or dramas with an ironic tone. It's a track that we really enjoy playing live in the band, and one that we instantly felt got crowds moving at festivals.”
We Say: “Melodic, catchy and understated – My Tribe Your Tribe channels summer vibes into ‘Garden Song’ with the right mixture of angst and beauty.”
My Tribe Your Tribe are an alternative-rock band from Kildare, Ireland consisting of musicians George Mercer, Tod Doyle and Colm Daffy. They released their new single, ‘Garden Song' on the 18th of February 2016.
