An abandoned space on Royal Avenue, Belfast will become a pop-up cultural hub for the duration of the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival. The Open Source venue at Sinclair House in the city centre, will provide free workshops and performances between noon and 7pm.

One of the organisers, Adam Turkington from Seedhead Arts said, "essentially the concept is that we take over a vacant property and use it as a cultural hub for people to showcase, network and exchange ideas".

Today will see BeeMickSee (Bomb City 7) and Slaine from Team Fresh give a free Rap workshop at 3pm and Dan Bardon will perform acoustic from 6pm.

Other events over the festival include sets from Rachel Austin, Scream Blue Murmur, The Gathering Drum, Caroline Pugh, Sara Dylan, Window Seats, Bill Morrison, Simon Howell. Free workshops include online promotion, electronic music drop in with Wheelworks, fire poise, urban image photogrpahy, kids drama, music podcasting and much more.
