Drama

On Monday it was announced that the return of Jane Campion's acclaimed series Top Of The Lake will be released as a full series on BBC iPlayer. On Thursday we published the media pack for Man In An Orange Shirt, the flagship drama in the BBC’s Gay Britannia season and announced that Suranne Jones will lead the cast of Gentleman Jack, the forthcoming BBC One/HBO drama series created, written and directed by Sally Wainwright.

Comedy

BBC Three has ordered a second series of critically-acclaimed mockumentary sitcom This Country from BBC Studios.

Events

The BBC will broadcast a series of special live programmes from the Passchendaele centenary commemorations in Flanders, Belgium.

BBC One's Wild Alaska Live Media Pack was published. 

Digital/iPlayer

This year the BBC served its most streamed Wimbledon: 24.1 million stream requests were made during Wimbledon this year via BBC Sport and BBC iPlayer, making it the most streamed Wimbledon to date. We also published the BBC iPlayer performance pack for June 2017, which revealed One Love Manchester to be the most requested programme that month.

Sport

It was confirmed that Liverpool will host the biggest awards night in the sporting calendar, BBC Sports Personality Of The Year 2017. Gareth Thomas spoke about how he has challenged online homophobic abusers to a face-to-face meeting while making Alfie v Homophobia: Hate In The Beautiful Game a new TV documentary for BBC Wales.

Music

On Thursday the BBC announced a brand new six-part music series featuring the hottest bands and artists in the world right now, and on Friday the cast was revealed for performances of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!at the BBC Proms.

Regional

BBC Radio Wales confirmed that Welsh actress and writer Ruth Jones is to bring a brand new sitcom to Radio Wales in February 2018, while current Summer Nights host Janice Long is to become a permanent part of the evening schedule from September.

International

BBC Monitoring joined the 2,000 strong OpenAthens Federation which will enable it to expand its commercial customer base worldwide.

Blogs

Pipa Doubtfire, Head of Revenue Management at the BBC revealed the latest performance figures, published this week in the 2016/17 TV Licensing Annual Review.
