Earlier today Stephen Fry and Sam Clafin announced the nominations for the BAFTA film awards for 2015.

The BBC Films production Pride has received three nominations. Based on the true story of a group of gay and lesbian activists who decide to raise money for families of striking miners, Pride is nominated for Outstanding British Film, Supporting actress – Imelda Staunton and Outstanding debut by a British writer, director or producer – Stephen Beresford (writer) & David Livingstone (director). Also nominated in the latter category is Hong Khaou writer/director of Lilting, another BBC Films production which stars Ben Wishaw.

Wes Anderson’s Grand Budapest Hotel has gained the most nominations, a total of 11, with its lead, Ralph Fiennes up against Sherlock’s Benedict Cumberbatch amongst others in the best actor category.

The BAFTA film awards will be held on Sunday 8 February.
