Yesterday, (Tuesday 8 March) The Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) Awards were presented at a ceremony in London. BBC Programmes or people took home prizes in 12 of the 17 categories.

Bill Turnbull (pictured) - who recently retired from BBC Breakfast after 15 years - was named News Presenter of the Year. Meanwhile, EastEnders took home the TV Soap of the Year Award and Peter Kay's Car Share won in the Entertainment programme category. Casualty was recognised with a Special Award.

  • Digital Radio Personality - Nick Grimshaw
  • News Presenter/Reporter - Bill Turnbull
  • Soap Personality - Adam Woodyatt (EastEnders' Ian Beale)
  • Digital Radio Programme - The Chris Evans Breakfast Show
  • Reality Programme - Strictly Come Dancing
  • Daytime Programme - Pointless
  • Crime Programme of the Year - Silent Witness
  • Entertainment Programme - Peter Kay's Car Share
  • TV Soap of the Year - EastEnders
  • Special Award Sponsored - Casualty
