The 17th TV Choice Awards were held in London on Monday (9 September). Doctor Who was selected twice, taking home the Best Drama Series and Outstanding Contribution to TV awards.

The TV Choice Awards are voted for by the public, and several other BBC programmes were succesful in the following categories: Best comedy series - Mrs Brown’s Boys; Best Actress - Miranda Hart, Call the Midwife; Best Soap Newcomer - David Witts (Joey Branning, EastEnders); and Best Soap Actor, Shane Richie (Alfie Moon, EastEnders).
