Today (Friday 11 March) the Broadcasting Press Guild Awards winners were announced at a ceremony held at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. BBC Programmes picked up nine awards from the thirteen categories. Here's the list of BBC wins:
Best Single Drama

An Inspector Calls, BBC One.
Best Drama Series

Wolf Hall, BBC Two
Best Entertainment/Factual Entertainment

The Great British Bake Off, BBC One
Radio Broadcaster

John Finnemore for John Finnemore’s Souvenir Programme, BBC Radio 4
Radio Programme of the Year

The Reunion, presented by Sue MacGregor, BBC Radio 4
Best Made for Online (Digital First)

Peter Kay's Car Share, BBC iPlayer
Best Actor

Mark Rylance for his role as Thomas Cromwell in Wolf Hall, BBC Two
Best Actress

Suranne Jones for her role as Dr Gemma Foster in Doctor Foster, BBC One
Breakthrough Award

Aidan Turner for his roles as Philip Lombard in And Then There Were None, BBC One and Ross Poldark in Poldark, BBC One.
The Harvey Lee award for an outstanding contribution to broadcasting, went to comedy writer, producer and presenter John Lloyd who has worked with the BBC on a number of occassions, including To The Manor Born, Not the Nine O’Clock News, Blackadder, and QI.
