Scott says: "It makes so many sweeping generalisations"
"What is does do well is highlight quite rightly that we are living in the digital age, where we are happy to just 'skip over terms and conditions' and you get an understanding about how anything can be used to target you for any particular purpose, whether it be for advertising or any other means.
"It sort of makes you contemplate how your practices online are different.
"I think the problem about this documentary is that it makes so many different sweeping generalisations.
"Towards the end it literally comes down to the argument that Facebook and social networks are responsible for every single wrong political thing that’s happened in the world, and it is keeping despots up and authoritarian regimes in power."

Hayley says: "A really good story told distractingly badly"
"Scott and I don’t usually text each other about TV shows when we are watching them. But occasionally something comes along that is so irritating that it cannot wait for the radio. For me it was this.
"This documentary is two hours long and it is extremely padded. There are lots of shots of people buying coffee or making tea... They always do that before somebody sits down and they are supposed to say something huge that is going to change the direction of the documentary. I can’t take it anymore.
"They tell the story with lots of people in cabs, texting each other, complete with iMessage bubble noises and the key taps. It has the two-fold effect of explaining the story and giving constant examples of how much we give away with our phone, but it takes longer to tell the story and we have already been watching it for weeks.
"It’s a really good story told distractingly badly. I followed all of these revelations in the Observer, so coming into this, you know all this stuff. It doesn’t feel like I’ve got anything new out of it.
“Everybody they interview contradicts everybody else, so it’s hard to try and piece the story together through all these contradictory narratives."
