Scott says: “This is really, really dark"

“This continues the appeal of what made the original series so compelling. It picks up where it left off about 17 months later as Lenny James, who plays a character called Nelly, tries to find out what happened to his estranged daughter who went missing at the start of the first series.

"This is really, really dark. It starts dark… it starts in the very familiar territory of police inquiries and people trying to find out what happened, but then it goes into the topic of child trafficking."

"In terms of the shows that people want to watch right now, for me this is not necessarily at the top of the list, just because the subject matter is just so heavy. 'Can I really a second series of this incredibly well written and well-starred drama, right now?', I thought. But actually I ended finding it much more engrossing than I thought I was going to.

"The thing is though you have to start from the very first episode of the very first series, this isn’t something that you can join in straight away."

Hayley says: “I would watch it for the cast but not the story"

"What I think is interesting about Save Me and Save Me too is that it is very London. There is a lot of soul searching going on as well as city searching. [Lenny James] is looking for his estranged daughter and he goes from posh Hampstead to the grim underbelly of Deptford.

"I love the cast in this show. Lesley Manville, who’s joining for the second series, is especially amazing. If anyone saw Phantom Thread, she was the greatest thing in that film. I think she adds a lot to this show.

"It does get very, very dark but it all kind of sticks within familiar territory. I think it has an excellent cast which I think elevates an otherwise, to me, unexceptional show. I would watch it for the cast but not for the story.”
