Missing numbers
You can also use the patterns for counting in 25s to help find missing numbers in a sequence.
Have a look at this number sequence. How could you work out the missing numbers?

You can see the sequence has steps of 25 because it goes from 250 to 275.
Look at the tens and ones digits in each number.

The pattern for counting in 25s helps work out these missing numbers. Remember, multiples of 25 end in 25, 50, 75 or 00.
Which number in the sequence comes before 250?
Which number comes between 275 and 325?

Example 1

Wigglesworth Academy has 25 children in each class. How many children are in 7 classes?
✓ There are 175 children in 7 classes of 25 children.
