Description
Valerie Bloom performs her poem ‘Pinda Cake’ for a group of children and uses Jamaican patois to create a distinctive rhythm and rhyme.
Classroom Ideas
Students could join in with the singing and performance sections of the poem. Students could listen to verses for which there are no actions, and in small groups draw pictures to represent the scene. Students could collate their images to create a storyboard of the poem and use this to help choreograph a performance of the poem.
